since gaming is illegal in most places, why do people crave and love bull breed dogs so much,?

All people are individuals just as all dogs are and I'm sure the reasons vary. I've personally never owned a more loyal and devoted dog. I admire a bulldog with quiet confidence and self assurance that is courageous and will not back down from anything ... one that will give it's all unconditionally to any endeavor when asked, has boundless determination and drive, but at the same time is a faithful, intelligent companion. I find all this in the bull and terrier.

i agree with you joe, but i must add that these dogs are tough as old boots health wise .i also like that they are good around kids . dependable in many situations .there stamina knows no bounds , oh and i have yet to see another breed with such humorous characters . i love em !!

I would love to have a Chinese Crested...but I'm afraid I would accidentally kill it.

Yup, that's what I was looking for. Plus, I love that they come in all kinds of colors. I'm a kind of a marking "snob", and like animals with lots of white on them, I can have that with Bully breeds. Sounds silly, I know.

I grew up with Labs, and while I love them, I don't think I could ever own one. The hair.. the "BALL!!" mentality, the "dumb" energy.. not appealing to me whatsoever.

Hey, I got a Brussels Griffon awhile back, and he's still alive.

Little dogs for the most part are a bit tougher than they look.

There are a lot of reasons why the bull breeds are so popular.
1. Unfortunately some of it, is the "tough guy" image.
2. Being such a old breed, many bulldog breeds have been in the family for so long, itis a tradition.
3. The health and longevity of the apbt as a breed is outstanding.
4. The temperament of a well bred bulldog is better than any other breed, IMO: people loving, hard working, loyal, and high pain tolerance.
5. Some people really respect the true heritage of a real bulldog.

These are just a few, that I can think of.

I've always said I'd have a little dog if I didn't think I'd accidentally vacuum it up! lol

As others have said... I love the breed for their loyalty, brains, and brawn! I love that my dogs are rough and tumble and healthy as all get out! I'm a bit of a bitch when it comes to physically or mentally weak things... so bulldogs are a natural fit!

Another question jacko asked and I think is a good topic: what's the point of DA if we are not going to fight our dogs?

I don't quite know the answer to that, but I figured some others would have better answers.

DA isn't JUST DA though... DA consists of stamina, drive, etc. So if you bred out DA, you'd be breeding out more than just their desire to grab another dog. These are gladiators... they strive on being pushed physically and mentally to do their best. The traits that go into what made a good pit dog, these days can translate to a good weight pull dog, or agility dog, or lure coursing dog...
