A dog gets out of the yard and it can be hit by a car, get lost, get in a fight with another dog, kill small a small animal or two (cats, squirrels, rabbits), get picked up by AC and the owner fined, get shot or deliberately poisoned by a hostile human...the list goes on. proper containment is priority. If the dog can't be trusted in the yard then the options are chain spot/tether, crate, kennel or human supervisor.
The smart thing to do is the tether/chain spot. Your mom doesn't have to like it. It's the decision you made to contain your escape artist dog and that is the end of it. Tell your mom thanks for the advice, but you have looked into your options and this is the most realistic one and what youhave chosen to do with your dog. |
