Default Sasha broke free!!!
But for good reason! This happened last night.

My little hero dog.

We were out playing in the back. I had Sasha leashed and my Daughter was running around. In the corner near the fence is a tree that fell during one of the spring storms. Anyway my daughter starting going toward that part of the fence. and Sasha starting barking and whining like crazy. Then as my daughter started running toward that part of fence where the tree was down Sasha broke loose and run up and got in front of my daughter and kind of bodyblocked her. She would not let her go any further. She kept turning and growling at the tree. My husband picked up my daughter and I was telling Sasha to come on (I wasn't sure what at gotten into her). I leashed her up and we started walking back toward the building when a skunk came out from under the tree.

I'm so grateful Sasha did break away because she kept my little girl and the rest of us from getting sprayed by a skunk. She didn't try to run away, she didn't try to go after the skunk. She just didn't want her girl wandering any closer, she knew it was there.

What a great dog!

I'll admit she had never had that much strength behind her. I was scared to death when she got loose, I just couldn't hold her, neither could the collar. That's scary. Going back to a belt buckle type collar. She's has never tried that hard to get loose.

Ofcourse she had good cause. But we are moving in a few days and we don't have a huge fence around where we are moving so definately getting a different collar

I'll tell you though. Skunks are some nasty critters and they are every where right now. We came across 2 on a walk a few nights ago outside of our apartments and one inside near the dumpster. They are the worst they have been in years. I honestly haven't seen an alive skunk in 10 years and now I've seen 4 in 3 days
