Thank you Kristin. I did look into some online places (though that one was not one of them) but it doesnt seem as productive to do all the book/video work first and then practice on real dogs later which is why I opted for a school thats all in person where both go hand in hand. I think that fits my learning style better and would offer better results, at least for me personally.
The online stuff wasn't really much on dog grooming, I'm trying to remember some of the things she told me about. One paper she wrote was comparing the muscle make up of a horse to a dog, some behavioral stuff, diet/food info, health/first aid. I think all of the grooming aspects were done at the teachers salon.
