Default Question for all the dog groomers
I have been looking into grooming schools for a while now and a question I have still is about the "golden paw menthod". Has anyone heard of, learned though or know someone who has learned though this method? They say they teach quality grooming in 6-10 weeks. Now I would say I am a fairly quick learner on the topic, I was a bather and did basic prep work and have taught myself things just from watching the groomers I work with but even I am wondering if it is truely possible to learn that much (and in good qulaity) in a short time. http://www.goldenpaws.com/intro.php

The short time sounds wonderful but I do not want to throw away money on something that wont teach me in the quality I am after. I was taught prep work on the job by a coworker. She told me what to do, would insepect my first handful of dogs then said I was good to go. Down the road I was doing what I was taught and ended up getting in trouble so to speak for doing what I was taught because it was an 'old school' method that is no longer done. The client was very mad and my boss basically blame me. I went and talked about it with the groomers to figure out what the heck I had done wrong, which is how I found out I was taught the old way which isnt used anymore and then shown the proper way to do it. Because of this amoung other things I am looking for a school that will teach me without the distraction of being on the job (I am a perfectionist in a lot of things, this being one, and to this day that issue I just stated really bothers me).

Because of our current situation the prospect of finishing schooling in such a short time is very tempting but I wanted to get opinions, if anyone has any, on this and see because I do not have money to just throw away on something that wont teach me what I need to know.
