Default Stupid Idiots!!
I posted this in my spay thread but would love to know what yall do when or if this has happened to you.

This morning I took Daisy to the vet to get spayed. There was a stupid idiot in the vets office. I wanted to just sock him!!!!!! He had this tiny chiwawa dog. He sees Daisy and laughs at his dog wanting to get to mine, making a stupid comment about his dog wanting to get Daisy. Then dares to say "that's a pit" and he wouldn't have one of those dogs and hope you don't have kids around her!!! My son was holding Daisy and telling how she loves kids. He was furious!! But the man was teasing Daisy with his dog laughing...idiot!!! All the while the lady behind the desk was talking about what good dogs they were but they are territorial and you can't have other dogs. Between the two of them...arghhhhh!!!! Then after all that...went down the road and someone ran into the back of us.....what a morning!!

What do you say to these people. If he hated pit bulls that much, he should have picked up his little dog and kept it away from Daisy!!

I just laugh. Hard. In their face.
I have zero patience with idiots, so laugh is the nicest thing I can do, most of the time.

I would have politely asked him to keep his dog away from mine. If he smirked and laughed at that, I would've take myself and my dog out of the situation. I would stand outside or hold him if necessary.
Just because he wants to be an idiot doesn't mean I should allow my dog to be in a bad situation.
There is nothing you can say to those people, so it's just best to avoid them and stay out of their destructive path.
Whenever Lily and I are at the vet, I always have her sit up on the bench with me. When another dog comes our way (usually on a flexi or not under control at all), I just give her a nice big bear hug and tell her what a good girl she is for staying there next to me. That way the other dog and owner can look like the idiots and my dog stays safe.

People are dumb. The sad truth. I've only encountered one person (who happened to be a friend) who made a "pits will turn on you" comment, and honestly, I just ignored it and let the conversation continue. Ironically, Dylan is at this person house right now playing with his two dogs, an Aussie Mix and a Beagle.

Tough skin is required for owning pits. I just ignore stupid comments. 99.9% of the time it isn't even worth getting upset over or getting into an argument with somebody. Idiots will be idiots, regardless of how much you try to educate them.

Some people! I probably would have told him that he should keep his uneducated and ignorant comments to himself. Then I would have advised him to keep a tight hold on his little yapper!

My Lily always sits in her own chair too!

Besides the "service dog" that obviously was not a legit service dog at the vet, we haven't had any problems with out of control animals at the vet. *knock on wood*

Yeah...I wanted to yell something at him...lol...my son had Daisy with him...she was on the floor and he was holding tight to her. She wasn't getting upset or anything, she always wants to go see other dogs. I sure wasn't going to let her close to something that she could put one toe on and smash it...lol... I was just nice and trying to get my business done while my son was petting Daisy and telling the man how sweet she is. Anyway...just really errkked me ...and him laughing at HIS dog trying to get to mine!!!... I love the "stupid idiot" term...lol...and it fully fit that man!!!

I don't know how I would have responded... I would like to think I would be mature about it and try to educate his simple mind... however, I'm loving AmberL's reply right now!!

People like that, seriously, I think you bother them more if you just simply ignore him as if he didn't speak to you (or anyone) at all. That usually gets them every time, because they are *trying* to get a rise out of you, so when they do, they have *won* and gotten just what they set out to achieve... under your skin.

The last time I was at the vet's office and a guy with 2 out of control Aussie's started bashing my pit all I had to do was sit back and watch. The vet's wife came out of the office and ripped the guy a new one! It was rather comical to see this tiny little, in her late 6o's, lady setting this guy straight on pit bulls.

I would have told him that considering HIS dog was the one acting like a spaz, perhaps it good that HE doesn't have a pit bull because hes obviously not man enough to even handle his own little ankle biter. Ahole! I would have also told the receptionist that if she doesn't know wtf shes talking about, she should really keep her opinions to herself.

I usually just laugh. If they keep on with spewing stupid crap, I remind them it's not my dog they should be afraid of, it's the 110 pound chick holding her leash who may decide today's the day to snap and go on a moron killing spree.

A golden opportunity missed. You should have informed the owner of said "Chiwawa" that they can be lethal to Pit bulls & to stay well away, not wanting your dog to get hurt. When the intrigued idiot takes the bait & asks why, you tell them your dog may choke on it.....
