Default Your tail Hurts!!!
Many of you may go through this, so you know what I'm talking about. Every single day when I come home from work, I get smacked in my legs a million times by that damn tail!! Then when I put him in a "sit", his whole friggin body wiggles, then he falls over and rubs his back on the carpet. All the while, whining. I am happy to see you too, but Sheeesh!! And when my daughters come in, kisses all around. My 1 year old even knows the drill as she cringes her face preparing for licks and also closes her eyes becuase when he turns around, she is level with that tail. He's only 10 months old, so I know we have a while to go before his "puppy" excitement is gone

lol, my daughter hides behind me. Good think is that Bailey is almost 2 and has learned how to act when people get here. She still has alot of puppy in her but you can tell she has learned how to behave but needs reminding right before she loses control of herself, which entails the licking and tail beatings.

I know what you mean, these dogs have tails that are like a freakin' whip! I know they are happy, but jeez.

I am sure Dixie (schnauzer mix pup) my dog if she had a tail she would be like that too. She wags it all the time.

Ah yes, the strength of a bully tail!

Our living room tables have been "cleared off" quite a few times.

Sometimes we will have someone over, who doesn't know they have 2 grab their drink when the dog comes in the room!

Also, when they step on your feet- Damn that hurts! I always get it when I'm in the doorway letting him out, so not only does he step- but he Pushes off to hurry out!

Abby has a dangerous tail as well she can leave whelps on your legs

Bruiser a friend of mines Pitmix broke his tail in a corner of the house and the vet decided would be best to remove part of it due to damage that had been done was bad lots of chips and shattered bone so his tail is now about 3 inches shorter

Jezebel does this. She is super funny. She runs around the house like a mad woman. I will make her sit in front of me so I can pet her and her whole body is just shaking because she is super excited and she "talks" to us. She either bitching us out that we left or telling us how excited she is because we our home. I am leaning toward the first option. But she will not go outside to go potty until both of us has paid attention to her.

Caesar is a goon all together. When he gets excited he has to grab something to carry. Whether it is a milk carton, soda can, nails clippers, or whatever he can find. He flies out of his crate and does his superman jump from the kitchen door way to the living room couch (not touch the 10ft of dining room floor). Our backyard is littered with crap that he grab and takes outside with him but he always forgets to bring it back in.

Jt is a jumping bean when he is let out of his crate. He jumps and barks. He will do that until we tell him to cut it out, drink about a gallon of water and then goes outside.

Queen is a little more calm. She will run around and be all excited but she settles quickly.

They always make me happy when I come home no matter what type of day I have had. The even funnier part is when we pull up in the driveway and we can hear them barking and whining but as soon as we open the door they are dead silent because they know they are not suppose to be barking. They act like they are trying to pull a fast on us but they are not the sneaky.

Try getting hit in the eyeball with the tail. That hurts a lot.

I do the same thing! lol Only most of my pain is from being walked on and by being used as a launch pad when I throw her toys lol

At my house, if you sit down period. Wheter it is the floor, the chair, sofa, whatever. They have to have your full attention the first thing when you get home or get out of the crate. It always makes my day.

If you come home and do not pet your dog or in any way pay attention to the dog but wait until later after the dog has calmed down it is better for the dog. Being happy to see the dog when the dog is excited to see you only makes the dog act worse. Completely ignore the dog, walk right past the dog, put away the groceries or whatever and when you are ready to sit down then call the dog to you.
It should not be a big deal that you come home. Some dogs if you act happy to see them misunderstand, thinking excitment is OK.
The same with leaving. No big deal. When I leave home as I walk out I say "guard the fort". The coming and goings of an owner should be no different than going to take a shower, going to bed or watching TV.
The calmer you can make a dog when it comes to the coming and going of the owners the better for all.

Oh,yes...indeed.Do I know about tails. I have the briuses to prove it.It really does HURT when they whack you, doesn't it?? Not only that, but how can they wack as hard as they do into a hard surface with their tail-and it doesnt hurt? If I bumped myself that hard I would be cussing up a storm! Oh and tails are great on furniture too. We have no coffee table. Why? because its pointless,i have to keep picking the stuff off the floor. Wagging tails can CLEAR a coffee table in NO time. lol.......

We have learned to pick anything up off the coffee table that we do not want broken. I do not know how much stuff tails have broke. When Pandora had happy tail it was the worst. Not only it was deadly but messy.
