Default Gage
Hi Everyone...

Ive been on the forum for a little over a week now and have learned alot of different things that ive started use. These forums are great.

Ive had gage for almost 3 weeks now and he has nearly doubled in size since we brought him home from the vet. He is looking and acting great and learning everything pretty fast ( except for house training )
working with him 20 minutes at a time throughout the day keeping training short and fun and he has learned alot.At 13 weeks old he knows how to sit/shake/lay down/come/highfive we are starting to work on a few more things.

Things are going great. I couldnt have asked for a better puppy He is very sweet and loving Just wanted to thank everyone for giving advice and welcoming gage and i to the forums. ill keep taking pictures every week and soon start seperating them so you can watch him grow like we do haha

Thanks again everyone

That is awesome! There is a lot to learn from here. Just a bit of advice... if gage seems to start acting distracted the training sessions might be too long. Make sure training is fun and dont push him too hard to where he wants to quit. They say 15 minutes is max for a training session and with a young pup I would think 5-10 minutes many times a day would be best. Good luck and keep us posted!

i also have puppy fever.

the best way to housebreak a pup is to take him out when HE doesn't even know he has to go. just teach him to potty on command. every time you take him out tell him "go potty" or whatever you'll use, "hurry up" is a good one... lol...
and when he goes, make it like a party! be so happy and jump around and he will catch on quickly. if he is never in a room alone, it will help. having a schedule for him is good too. i bring my pups to work while they are housebreaking, and so i can take them out every two hours. i give them lots of water about 15 minutes before going out, and then bring them right out and tell them go potty. if they even LOOK like they're looking to go potty, i bring them out.

anyway, good luck,, and your puppy is so cute.

Welcome and congrats on the pup. Don't be too worried about his problems with the house training, his little puppy bladder makes it very difficult to control, just keep up with the training and as he grows he will develop more control and you should see a reduction in accidents.
