I watched it live; there was so much emotion it was almost like watching a manned landing.

Great job by the MSL / JPL team!

And the kids at the local school even got to see those parts that they could get (downloading was intermittent but they persisted apparently) .. so they were all racing out the gate yelling to their parents that Curiosity made it
