If communism is such a good idea, and there is community ownership and the goal isn't profit.. Why can't it compete with capitalism?

Why do I hear all these cop-outs about how it has to be universally adopted, across the world.. Simultaneously?

Why can't it compete with, and eventually supplant, every capitalistic enterprise out there? From each according to his means to each according to his needs? Well, the Capitalist enemy has the means.. So,, why don;t you just step up the plate and take it! Eschew profit, and undermine him with your commie empire.

Example: Begin with retail.. Take on WalMart!

Open a commie version that is collectively owned, and run it in such a way as to disregard profit.. Hand your fellow travelers what they need to survive (And WalMart has a lot of that on hand, and at bulk prices for you!) and use the economic advantage of your "No profit" model to supplant a huge chunk of the retail industry.

Once that's done? Expand.. Take on fast food.. Take on everything.. One industry a a time.

Centrally plan it and develop a chain of business dependencies..

Take on big box hardware.. and from there, housing at large!
