I can overclock my Asus P5Q PRO board with a Intel E8500 to 4.16 GHz (sorry, CPU-Z wouldn't give me a money shot
). My CPU temp (using HWMonitor) was at 48C idle/68C load air cooled using a Zalman 9500A fan and Arctic Silver Ceramique. It's stable at that setting but I'm paranoid
. I'd like to settle for a mild overclock, say 3.6 GHz but I'm still trying to find that sweet spot. The memory timings and voltages (4x1GB DDR2-1066) have me confused, but with XP SP3, I'm not sure it's worth the effort. I'll have to get a 300GB velociraptor for the clean install of Windows 7...
