Yeah, The Omo Valley people in South Western Ethiopia are highly negroid. Dassanech, Hamer, Woylata, Dorze Konso etc are all indigenous to Ethiopia. Like I said Those "Negroids" that you keep talking about are the carriers of the diverse mutations of E1b1b that supposedly indicates "Caucasoid" Black flow . |

They look very Negroid to me on average. It's mostly the hype on Anthroforums that they aren't negroid. They're mostly Negroid but some sections have significant Caucasian admixture as well. I've seen ones that look very caucasoid, like Haile Selassie. ---------- Post added 2010-07-07 at 13:13 ---------- Lol, what is this thread all about? Are you implying the new generation of Ethiopians are getting blacker? ---------- Post added 2010-07-07 at 13:14 ---------- Ethiopia is a very big country which is multi ethnic and not just one ethnicity. Tropical african features which are more typical of west and central africans are obviously found in the area what is now called ethiopia. However mostly its in the south and south central parts of the country. This is due to nilo saharan probably from sudan) admixture. ---------- Post added 2010-07-07 at 13:29 ---------- There is no such thing as genetic Negroid, or if you want to look at it another way, there are at least 14 different ways to be genetically SSA. |

Agreed. People have such a limited view of what Africans are suppose to look like. Each region or each country must have one look. There is this believe that Horn of Africans are supposed to have a pseudo caucasoid/Indian look so whenever a they see an Ethiopian that look more "negroid" as they say then the said person must have a non-hoa mixture. The sad fact is that some, not all, just some hoa tend to reinforce this idea. For example, someone in the beginning of the thread claimed that the set of picture must be a south-central ethnic groups of Ethiopia that has a nilo-saharan admixture. I found that kinda ironic because some of the people in the set of pictures reminded me of Afars and Amhara's i've met. I've never met an Oromo before but i've seen videos of them though and some of set did remind me of Oromo's as well. I found that interesting. |

Not ALL of them are transplants from Sudan. It depends on which ethnicities you are speaking of. |
