I've decided to let all my Olympus Gear go, as i was planning on buying a E-30 but the price of £999 for the body is just not worth it, as there is much better options out there for alot less money.
Now im thinking maybe the Nikon D300 or D90 also the Canon 50D with maybe one or 2 lenses to get me going. So what lenses and body to go for. |

Yip & it's also more than enuf for the D700, but to get the best out of full frame camera's you also have to spend vast amount on glass to.
Basically i want what i had with my Olympus set ie wide angle, everyday lens & a telephoto and a fast prime plus a flash. I wanna keep it simple it may cost more to change systems to either Nikon or Canon to get what i want again, but it be a better investment in the long run as Olympus are pricing themself out of the market offering new bodies at silly prices that in my book are less better than either the Nikon D90 or the year old Canon 40D feature wise. |

Lol one great thing about both Canon & Nikon i don't have to look around anymore for lenses or the body as everywere stock them, was abit harder with Olympus because not all places had them and getting lenses round here was impossible it had to be internet.
Im not giving up completely on Olympus im still keeping my second body the E-420 with the 25mm prime as this is great for when ya just don't want to lug about a bag full of glass. |

Canon 50D or Nikon D300, same stuff really, get the one you fancy more (alternatively the one you already have lenses for). I have a friend who owns the 40d, He loves it. I use Nikon as the feelof them in my hands, just feels perfect. and i have lenses for them, and thanks to ebay, i now own more lenses for them, cheaply priced, hehehe |

I'd look at something like a D300 or a 40D, not the 50D as it's not much of an upgrade over the 40D.
with such a body I suppose you're going to have enough money left for glass... BUT, on the other hand, you say you have £2350 to spend on a camera. dSLR's, glass and photography equipment is not something you buy just once and for all... you actually ARE going to spend a lot more on this in the future, so this is why, maybe, you should consider going FF and start with 1 lens that does it all. if it's canon then something like a 24-105mm f/4L IS USM would be nice. if you don't need FF then it would be a waste of money probably, except the obvious benefits FF provides. |

One of the most significant improvements the 50D has over the 40D has is its capability to shoot at much higher ISO. So if that's a culprit for you, it might be worth the extra $. Otherwise, I'm very very happy with my 40D. |
