Default Teen sends 14,528 text messages, dad gets 440 page bill
Call child services, the abuse here is too blatant. She belongs in a foster home that will encourage her communication skills.

I just don't get texting. I don't think I've sent even one.

How do you not "get" texting? Many times I want to ask someone a question, or just tell them something, but I don't need or want an immediate response - or know in advance that my friend is busy in class, etc. Texting comes in very handy in such circumstances.

Isn't that what email was designed for?

If I've got the phone on, call me. If it's not on, leave a message, and I'll call back when I can. If I'm busy, etc the phone will be off, but I'll get the message.

Texting would be great for deaf people except that it isn't. If I can get messenger on my phone, why should I bother with texting?
Lots of people can't send/receive email on their phone. For those who can, it's still not as convenient as text messaging.

So is not giving them a cell phone in the first place also considered child abuse?

Depends on the local court, as well as the number of the teen's friends of the same age who have cell-phones. Exacerbating factors include the number of hot rumors and cool parties they miss out on as a result of Nazi parenting.

I wonder why they chose to print the whole thing anyway. Is that normal in the US? Have they never heard of the internet?

What?

She's actively developing them the way everyone does, by communicating with her peers.

Nikolai, would you pay just a total amount, not itemized?
I sure wouldn't want the whole bill. I'd want the total sum on the bill. The specifics aren't neccessary there. That's what the internet customer pages are for. Seriously, what century are you living in over in the US? Prices which belong to the early cell phone age and specified bills counting hundred of pages on paper?

You would beat your own daughter over a cellphone bill?
He'd beat her own daughter with a cellphone bill. I bet that 440 page one was heavy.
