Ignorance is a bliss that will lead sooner or later to a mass amount of pain, as soon as the ignorance is gone.

i have a question to all who will participate. why does tradition brain wash us?

example: a sexually active woman may be deemed as a wh0re. this rule of insult does not apply to a man. religion takes the same affect. we are raised to believe what is right, and therefor are sculpted to fit a shape.

we evolve over time, as a people of civilization. some petty afflictions were overcome, while countless ones remain, and even newer ones await us. or... them. whichever way you look at it.

you will never know what is true unless you discover for yourself.

It brain washes those in power, as they became successful with what tradition they have. And the last statement is true.

Life is like a box of spiders, it can be cool, but often times you'll get bitten.

And why does my toast always land butter-side down?[/b] Because generally, people drop toast from waist height, and at that height the toast only has time to revolve once before it lands on the ground, hence it lands butter side down. If you were extremely tall, or kept your toast butter side down on your plate, it would stop it falling butter side down when you dropped it, but that's just crazy fool.

Spoiler:

now THAT'S philosophy for ya

(assuming it was on earth)

Now THAT's Physics

Now THAT's Physics[/b] So we come to the conclusion that should you want to play it safe with your buttered toast, you should always strap it to the back of your cat.

if mankind dies, there'll be no one left to remember mankind in terms of good/evil

An alternate solution would be to put the toast on a plate so you can't drop it

But there are probably sentient beings out there, possibly with the same kind of logic and morality of us.

If they knew of us, and we died somehow, they would probably call us evil, if they were copies of us.

However, in the same way, if we knew their history and they died somehow, we would think the same of them.

It's pretty simple to call anyone and everyone evil; countless religions and philosophies have said this and have yet to be proven wrong :P

I was just want somebody to say "This is madness!" so I can say in return, "This....is... PHILOSOPHY!!!!!!!!!!!"
No..."This...is...SPARTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
But really; i wish you had waited until someone did, cuz then it would be SO cool. lolz

I'll set you up for another one

Philosophy has existed for over 9000 years
€-C, Philosophy has existed far more longer than that. It's existed since the most simple sentient being made the first thought ever. Humanity has existed far longer than 9000 years.

________________________________________________

Oh, and I'd think that all kinds of questions should be able to exist here. I mean, all questions with answers are related to human thought in some way, right?
Therefore,
The Philosophy Thread now accepts sociology, science, and all sorts of questions, even the ones made as jokes and may or may not answer them.
How does that sound.
