Default Is North Dakota really a US state?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-14142111

While reading the state constitution, which is 40 years older than he is, John Rolczynski noticed it omitted to mention the executive branch when explaining which new officers need to take the oath supporting the US Constitution.

This, he says, makes the state constitution invalid because it is in conflict with the federal constitution, which requires all officers of the three branches of state government - executive, judicial and legislative - be bound by the oath. apparantly he believes under law its actually `only` a US territory not a state.....

And interesting enough, it's just about the only state in the union that is doing well in the recession.

There might not be a huge population, but It's a pretty big area to not be a state!

There is a county within 30minutes of here that succeeded from the Union back during the Civil War and didn't officially rejoin the Union until 1945.
The Independent State of Dade.
The county didn't even make it on the state corner. The top left corner of Georgia is missing the county of Dade.

Yeah that's pretty embarrassing. The Federal government should've just dissolved the county and rezoned it within the conforming counties. IMO that's treason.

Edit: After doing some quick research it looks like just a story.

They even admit it on their website. http://www.dadecounty-ga.gov/History.cfm?lid=1052

Rednecks.

Its not like they can't just fix the loophole. TBH though if it ends up having to secede from the US, I'm moving there.

It'd be a show well worth watching if South Dakota would invade it. Huzzah for the State of Dakota! [rofl]
