Just another example of 'Apple' having their heads stuck firmly up their collective bottoms!
I agree, but by others reasoning that means you support the case?

Look you miserable idiot, I didn't say I agreed with it. I said there is enough of an issue for Apple's high priced lawyers to want to fight it. If you can't read don't try and abuse me for it. Or is it that you just can't stand any kind of objective thinking? Or are you still in high-school and have no idea of a world past WoW and Second Life?
Actually no, I currently work at NSF as a Systems Engineer.
http://nsf.gov/staff/staff_bio.jsp?l...=NSF&from_org=

Also no I don't see any kind of objective thinking from you... How is this enough of an issue for Apple's high priced lawyers to want to fight it? Clearly it is a waste of money for apple to even attempt it... I see no logic in this... Only money wasted.
I just forwarded the information about the lawsuit and the pictures of both logos to my co-workers... I have not heard anyone agree with apples claims yet...

Okay derangedmoose, if there's such a valid case here please point out to all of us unwashed philistines what Apple could possibly see in this case?

If lawyers get involved, then they think that they can win a case. It's hardly rocket science. Apple have enough money to throw at this to maybe come out on top. Again, hardly rocket science.

The problem is, you're just looking to jump on the call dangermoose an idiot bandwagon. A frankly pathetic place to be. As such you're paraphrasing whatever I say in order to curry favour with people who you don't know, will never know, and don't have any affect on your life.

Again, for the third or fourth time, I didn't say they have a valid case. I said that Apple's lawyers obviously believe they have something. If you bothered to consider what you were reading you'd know that.

I'm sure Hitler had valid reasons for gassing the Jews in his mindset, I doubt anyone here would agree with them, See their reasons, or accept them.

Same case here really. Apple are just bullying. Microsoft and Apple should never join forces, it would be like crossing the streams.

So that makes me an idiot for pointing out the glaringly obvious point that Apple's lawyers obviously believe they have something to get hold of? Despite what The Guardian tell you, you're allowed to have an opinion on something without supporting it.

So, the first paragraph of that first message wasn't a very sarcastic and poor attempt at calling me an idiot? Do you think I floated in on a rubber dinghy from another planet recently?

I agree with dangermoose, though, no one is wrong in this case.

The apple is similar enough to be confused. Remember, we are not dealing with professional graphic designers here. We are dealing with the masses. The housewives and the CPAs of the word that hear about a product and buy it because the TV tells them too.

If they see an Apple logo (especially at a glance), they will blindly purchase the product and rush home to watch reality TV.

Remember, the masses are easily swayed and hardly discerning. A professional opinion means nothing in this case.

But woolworths is a store... if this logo was USED by a chinese computer company that makes apple replicas then YES i understand... the intent was to use a SIMILAR But not exactly APPLE like symbol... but this is a department store.... and it isnt an appple. its a W. AM I taking crazy pills here?

Everyone knows apple makes computers... even if they may not have seen one or the logo.. they have heard of an "apple" computer... how would they confuse the symbol of a department store with a computer company? People who confuse those things are the same people that read how many grams of fat is in their water on the nutritional facts.

That's irrelevant. It's a brand logo. What is woolworths decided to sell computers next week, or Apple decided to sell clothes.

They are taking a liberty, but all they have to do is impress a judge. And those people are so far out of touch with reality it's untrue.

You can't see how comparing me to hitler isn't mocking my opinion, yet you call me a mentalist? You really need some help.

This guys says it well:
Apple is NOT suing anyone. They are challenging a trademark application. A trademark application that, if granted, would give Woolworth permission to put that logo on any of their products, including electronics should they choose to do so.

If you want to blame someone, blame trademark law, because it basically requires companies to do this to protect their brand. If Apple doesn't challenge this, another company can come along later and use it as evidence against Apple should the new companies logo also be considered similar. They aren't out for money, they are just trying to protect their trademark.

Wow this is one of the most arbitrary posts I have read in a while. [shocked]

You might want to get a grasp as to what is actually going on with this story before you try to draw such drastic and intensely unrelated parallels.
