End of the world as the Mayans predicted
The mayans didnt predict the end of the world, the mayans would celebrate the end of their calender in anticipation as they hoped the gods would reward them with another cycle through their calender. it was a superstition that brought about anxiety about the end of a calender year, as if the gods didnt grant them another cycle they wouldnt be able to celebrate it

the long calender count or whatever it was called was implemented eventually to record history more accurately for a longer period of time, thats it. if anything the implementation of the calender would relieve the anxiety for a far longer period while still maintaining the superstition of being rewarded another cycle by the gods, they didnt luck out very well with their new calender however

I don't need to prove anything. It's up to you to prove that something will happen.
Nah actually the burden of proof is on you. Unlike you, i didn't make any claims. Heh. Anyways, forget it i wasn't serious.

And btw, It's Dec 22nd. The day of final alien invasion. Mulder saw it at Mount Weather.

I think Apple should time a major product/software launch on that date.

Yeah just got an email last week from a friend who I was at a bbq with saying he had been diagnosed with H1N1. Scary stuff, he is a very clean person and has good hygiene, right in the middle of the city and he's 22 years old. It can get anyone.

I think it's blown way out of porpotion just like anything else these days. Nothing really was going on in the US so the media had to have something bad to report and make worse. They ALWAYS do that.

Well this weekend I've had the flu. I want to get to a doctor on Monday so I can see if it is swine flu. It would be awesome if it was. [thumbup]

Overall it's been a pretty mild flu so far. While I feel shitty, it hasn't been a very hard hitting flu. My nose isn't clogged up to the point of not breathing through my nose and I can rest without being too restless. I mostly feel tired, a bit of a fever a bit of a sniffle, and loss of appetite. I don't think it's going to kill me any time soon.

A lot of people think they've got "flu" when they haven't. They've just got a bad cold. If you can get out of bed you haven't got flu.

Well to me it seems like I have had all the typical flu symptoms and their phases. It's just been more mild. When I felt something was coming on I made sure I was eating things like fruit full of vitamin C, barocca and shots of gin to kill bacteria in the throat and a bit of extra rest. IMO without this early defensive strike I feel it would have taken hold of me a lot worse.

Sounds more like 'Man Flu' to me. Real Flu can be very nasty.

Screw H1N1. The food at the MGM Grand is what we should worry about. I got a head cold before going to Vegas, then on day 2 I got food poisoning. Bet the Mayans didn't predict that did they!

Actually, maybe I got the swine flu and I don't know it. I just confused it for a common cold. I gave it to my wife, and some of my family. By the way this thing spreads it must be the Spiderpig Flu. They're gonna have to put a dome on the city.
