Default Dentists are evil
Had a filling done this morning. Did not even know I needed one doing (tooth did not hurt) - but apparently it showed up on the X-ray, so they took care of it.

8hrs later and I am still in bloody agony. I have no idea what they have done - but from the moment the anesthetic wore off I've been in constant pain.

If its still like this tomorrow I think I'm going to have to call them again and go back. Makes me worried that maybe they've trapped an infection or something in there.....

The dentist dislocated my jaw today pushing the filling home. Granted, my jaw is screwed after an accident a few years back, so it dislocates easily.

Gave her a nasty shock though [rofl]

lol my revenge was an unexpected one, having my jaw numbed up after the procedure you normaly get some water+disinfection stuff, well the wash out didn´t work out that well and ended up with me literally spitting half the bloody sauce on the pretty dentist helper*

*(helperin ? she was a cute ~ 18 year old chick) [rofl]

I hated dentists for years, I would only go if I was in agony, kept oil of cloves to numb anything that happened, then I moved to Hertfordshire and found the nicest dentist you could ever meet and I went regularily after that for 12 years, even though I moved and for 8 years it was a 150 mile round trip.

Just went to book an appointment and he's now gone private, what a downer, I've had some butcher dentists and I'm not looking forward to looking for another one now as they absolutely terrify me.

I still do not like dentists. Not them personally, but more of how I feel afterwards. The one I have now is good and I actually do not hurt as bad as I do afterwards as I have in the past, but still I just hate going.

Well, I am sure all of the opiates will take good care of you.

I'm 19 going on 20 this year and never seen a dentists in my entire life. My teeth don't hurt at all except when I put something ecy cold in the front teeth then I can feel it. But that's probably cause I speed more days not brushing my teeth then the amount of days I do brush my teeth.

Come to think of it, after lunch today I might go and brush my teeth. I really should start doing it more often.

Do you people not brush or have violent dentists?

Everytime I go, its fine, they clean my teeth and fill a cavity if need be and it never hurts afterwards

Didn't you have regular check ups as a kid?

This thread reminds me I really need to make an appointment for a check up. I haven't been for a couple of years! [surrender]

Went back in December, and i've been every 6 months since I was a young kid.

I've had removeable braces once when I was a kid. Wasn't pleasant, but now I appreciate the fact I wore them for a few months - my teeth are very straight compared to before, when they were an ugly mess.

I didn't appreciate the fact I had to have a needle to the mouth after wearing them. Not sure what it was since I was very young at the time, but never again.

Nope, only ever had two checkups and they were both done at school about 10 years ago and they said I was perfectly fine.

Exact same.

Mine went pricvate and since she was decent I stayed with her.

Then I moved 170 miles away + her fees meant I havent seen a dentist in 20 months.

Going on monday hope the new one is ok as I know I need at least one filling

I don't know what they did the drilling with to cause that kind of an effect... a jackhammer? If you're still in pain by tomorrow, then chances are that they drilled too deep and you have pulp exposure and will require an emergency root canal.

I have yet to feel pain when getting fillings with the dentist I have now. It's unpleasant, to be sure, but just that. He is a professor at the dental school, practices only 2 days per week, and charges damn close to $500/hour. But damn it, he's worth every penny.
