LOL @ raikkonen on the grid [rofl]
Indeed [rofl]

Was a good race to watch. Indeed, MS did come back well, but everybody bar Fisichella and Raikkonen simply pulled over and didn't even put up a struggle [rolleyes]

Good to see Button on the podium, seeing as he started 14th [thumbup]

Another podium for Button! 14th to 3rd! Who knows where he would have been had he not had that problem yesterday. [thumbup]

Impressive driving from MS even with all the mechanical problems this weekend. That Raikonen pass was amazing. Ending in 4th could only be possible with MS and Ferrari.
Funny thing is that Massa's victory and Alonso's / Renault's Championship victory are being camouflaged by MS's F1 curriculum.
Love him or hate him, that's some driving for your a$$ over the years. I am trully sad to him him go, but at least he didn't die while racing. Also, his 248 F1 is staying with him, a gift from Ferrari.
BTW, does anyone know how much (roughly) an F1 car cost? Say from last season (recent tech)...

About 6 years ago, a single f1 car was supposed to be roughly £1,000,000 each, including each tire which is roughly £10,000 each.

holy moly!

I wonder how much their fuel is per litre (I'm guessing they use some special racing fuel stuff?).

All I know about fuel on the current Renault F1 car is that its consuption is over 70L/100Km. Ouch

1.5 Million Euros (current currencies). Today it should be plenty more (the Veyron is a million euros). Say one wanted a F1 car, would a scuderia sell one? That would require extensive training from the buyer though...

One of the best races I have ever seen IMO.

Firstly because it has a big day for a number of people:
MS for leaving
Alonso for winning his 2nd WC
Massa for winning his home GP, something that no one has done since Senna and then even he found it hard.

So it wasn't just the winner that took something from this race.

Plus while MS might have not won the race, he showed everyone one last time why he is one of the greatest drivers of all time. He is also one of the few people in his class that survived to retirement (which can't be said for most of his predesesors).

awesome race, F1 is really becoming competitive now with new rules and V-8s. I sense Parity among the ranks. my favorite team wins again! (Renault) formerly Benetton. it's becoming harder and harder to lap people in F1 nowadays with V-8s , not like previous years when V-10s ruled the land. congrats to Alonso for winning 2nd straight championship! you deserve it, and congrats to Renault for winning 2nd straight constructors world championship!

thanky ou Schumacher for the memories and the wins when you was with benetton. still the greatest F1 world champ ever. the smartest , and best. You have finish your wonderous career on top . Schumacher turned in the fastest lap in his 248 ferrari at 1:10.313 sec around the interlagos lap. about 3/10 tenths faster than Massa, still showing that even at grandpa age, he can still own young Massa. Goodbye my friend and farewell, you will be missed.

i am looking to next year for the new ING sponsored renault team with new no 2 driver Heikki Kovolian, and no 1 driver promoted Giancarlo Fisicella. My eyes will be focus on test driver Nelson Piquet Jr, son of 3 time world champion and former benetton driver Nelson Piquet. I think Piquiet Jr will be the next world champ and i am looking foward to him getting the no 2 seat in the Renault team.

Still pretty efficient as it's producing well over 700 hp during much of that.

Me, I'm truely gutted, didn't set the alarm properly (5:30 for a 6am local start) and missed the damn race - catching replay tonight.

Apparently ITV were "inundated with complaints" over what Kimi Raikkonen said to Martin Brundle before the race.

Oh for crying out loud, what kind of person would be sad enough to phone up or write to ITV about that?

"OH MY GAWD, I JUST HEARD **** ON TV, I DEMAND RETRIBUTION AND AN APOLOGY"

great race for all thr right reasons, wanted alonso to loose and schmacher to win

fantastic race by schumacher, i think the way he drove the last race is a testiment to him as a driver. ok he has made bad decisions over the years, but you cannot deny the talent he has and it will certainly be differnent next year

yeah, i agree. it's a shame Ferrari is pushing Schumacher to retire before he was ready to .

Only a driver like Shumacher can push through the whole line up after losing a whole lap time like that.

This is truly the end of an era.......Shumacher is the last driver of the 90's generation champions.
