Ok, had to bump this after seeing a clip of Anne Hathaway's new film on breakfast TV. She's such a poor actress anyway which is ironic seeing she shares the same name as Shakespears wife but her latest film even takes the piss more. She's supposed to be a Yorkshire girl from Leeds but it's just a very poor attempt at a plummy accent.

As with Rene Zellwegger in Bridget Jones he equated doing a British accent with just talking very very slowly and deliberately. |

I really don't understand why they just don't find actors/actresses they are looking for. No matter how good the actor/actress is, if they portray a lousy accent, nobody likes their performance so the idea of selling tickets just for the name in the movie is rubbish. Put real accented actors/actresses in it and call it day.

Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() not because i agree, but because i tried to imitate a physically and mentally disabled person's speech in my own head but i couldnt get past figuring out exactly how one might sound depending on what particular dissorders that they had. so in the end i determined that each and every person has there own idea of what a mentally/physically disabled person should sound like....because unfortunately at some point we have or will make noises/sounds/annunciations etc to match. ...and yes, it is way to easy for me to do, it seems to comes naturally everyday ![]() so i guess im repping you because you made me think....but now my head hurts ![]() |
