Me Gibson, in whatever he's been in. He just sounds like an Aussie trying not to sound like an Aussie.

Ok, had to bump this after seeing a clip of Anne Hathaway's new film on breakfast TV. She's such a poor actress anyway which is ironic seeing she shares the same name as Shakespears wife but her latest film even takes the piss more. She's supposed to be a Yorkshire girl from Leeds but it's just a very poor attempt at a plummy accent.

there's leondardo's in blood diamond or whatever it's called.
This is the first one that entered my mind when I saw the topic, but figured I better read back...I can't be the only person that hated his accent, it was so brutal.

As with Rene Zellwegger in Bridget Jones he equated doing a British accent with just talking very very slowly and deliberately.

Yes to Connery, though for me in Highlander. The whole film is a mental mindfucker. You've got a French guy running around being Scottish in the "clan McCloud" and then Connery introducing himself as a Spanish fancy dan.

Dick Van Dyke was appallingly great in "Mary Poppins" as in terrible accent but still a wonderful performance

To balance it, Bob Hoskins American accent in Roger Rabbit was surely horrendous.

Brad Pitt's Irish accent..........wow

Kevin Costner's attempt at an English accent for the first ten seconds of Robin Hood before he just gave up too.
It was pretty bad in The Devils Own although I think he did will with the traveller accent in Snatch. Gerard Butlers Irish accent in PS I Love you was awful as well

I really don't understand why they just don't find actors/actresses they are looking for. No matter how good the actor/actress is, if they portray a lousy accent, nobody likes their performance so the idea of selling tickets just for the name in the movie is rubbish. Put real accented actors/actresses in it and call it day.

Any fake southern accent. Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias or anyone from Sweet Home Alabama.

Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump
...repped....

not because i agree, but because i tried to imitate a physically and mentally disabled person's speech in my own head but i couldnt get past figuring out exactly how one might sound depending on what particular dissorders that they had.

so in the end i determined that each and every person has there own idea of what a mentally/physically disabled person should sound like....because unfortunately at some point we have or will make noises/sounds/annunciations etc to match.

...and yes, it is way to easy for me to do, it seems to comes naturally everyday

so i guess im repping you because you made me think....but now my head hurts
