I've believed ever since I first heard that Paul W. Anderson was going to direct it, that it would be bad. When the rating came, I believed it even more. And now, when the first reviews are out... I'm absolutely 100% certain I'll hate it. Fuck you, Paul.
I'm still going to watch it, but only because I feel I have to. I love [i]Predator[/I and I love the Alien films... so I've got see how bad they've fucked everything up. |

i saw the movie also and me and my friend agreed that this movie wasnt good at all. it should have been longer and they shouldnt have rushed all the info so that people knew excatly what was happening at the end, cause i was confused thew half the movie, until that guy explained everything.
my overall 6/10 Spoiler: cause one of the fight scenes they had was good, but the ending was just horrible especially that last fight where one predetor and a human kill the queen alien. [ August 13, 2004, 07:45 PM: Message edited by: Moose ] |

I just watched this movie. It isnt as bad as you people say. If you liked Freddy vs. Jason, you'll like this one too. Average acting and short film doesnt make it a horrible movie. Whatever it had was fun to watch...I agree with the ending part though. They should've put some more action there, thats where the movie felt short. Otherwise, its all good.
I give it 7.8/10 |

God-dammit, I knew they'd mess this up with fucking useless actors and silly directing.
YET ANOTHER shineing example of modern Hollywood, well FUCK YOU HOLLYWOOD, YOU'VE FUCKING RUINING SO MANY CLASSICS NOW ITS GETTING SILLY! ![]() I treasure the first 2 Alien films and both Predator's, fan-fucking-tastic films and they were filled with everything needed: Reasonable to good acting, lots of gore, decent enough storys, but mainly they focused on the "mind fucking" side of things, being hunted and so fourth. Watch Aliens(IE Alien 2) for a great Sci-Fi/Horror movie with humans that are actually half-decent. Acting wasn't great but the marines are great to listen to. Peace JENOVA |

Well, I was kind of upset when I heard this movie was rated PG-13. It didn't totally ruin the movie though... just some of it. The rating seriously hurt it when humans were killed. Most human kills were off-screen. Hopefully an unrated DVD will make me happy about that part. It had some really cool parts, but Anderson really screwed a lot of things up. The characters for example had no personality and there was way too many of them to even keep track of. Freddy vs. Jason's human characters had more depth. Alien and Predator fights were pretty good. Aliens and Predators have greenish blood so they could do a lot more of that. See, the MPAA is only strict about red blood for some reason.
Another thing I didn't like was that the movie was just way too short. The plot just seemed so rushed. The movie is only 87 minutes long; which is not nearly enough time. The first half of the movie is just the set-up of these people getting into the underground pyramid and I thought it was quite boring. Bad writing there. The actual concept of it though is actually really good. Predators used ancient civilizations to build them pyramids to hunt Aliens in every 100 years. Once the action started, the movie did pick up a bit. I think the worst part was the acting. Not only did these characters have no personalitys, but the actors were bad. Paul Anderson said he wanted "Good, but unknown actors". He only accomplished one of those things. The main character isn't even that good of an actress and again, no personality to the character. Anderson did do a few things right though. He treated the Predators excellent. You can tell he was a huge fan of those films. The upgraded looks to the Aliens and Predators were cool as well. The special effects were excellent. Mainly because they used little CG for the Aliens and Predators. Most of it was actual guys in costumes. What was done CG though was hardly noticable. The ending was great, it leaves it open for what could be a very interesting sequel and if this one makes enough money; I'm sure we will see one. Overall though, a bit disapointing. Two of Sci-Fi's greatest characters finally meet in a movie only to have a rushed plot and horrid acting.
