Ability to save favourites. 5. Creates a custom folder to store over 800 pages of Quran. 6. Resolution options of 100mb 250mb and 500mb ideal for small/big screens and storage space. 7. Faster background download. 8. Option to turn off dimming NOTE: 500MB DOWNLOAD WILL MAKE PAGE TURN AND SELECTION OF SURAH/CHAPTER SLOWER. PLEASE BE PATIENT FOR LOAD. it uses curl effect for a page turn, a technology that did not exist on the Android for a right to left turn. So the developer had to reverse engineer the technology on this particular script to get it to work. I deliberately at this stage avoided many features and addons that other Quran apps have i.e. Audio. It is meant to be a plain and simple Tajweed app that replicates a real Mushaf [The book that contains the Quran], period! Known issues: 1. It uses high resolution images that are approx' 100mb - 500mb [Downsized from 600mb but still maintaining good quality]. They have to be download to a folder using wifi or mobile connection. Consequently it can take some time to download [it took me 20 mins on wifi and reported 40 minutes by others on mobile]. One of the reasons is that it is hosted on my shared server. 2. Fortunately it can do this in the background Update on 17/04/12 1. Pinch and zoom 2. Higher resolution 100mb - 500mb for better quality viewing 3. Faster background download. 4. Landscape view 5. Search via Surah 6. Option to turn off dimming Installation instructions: App is now on live in the MarketPlace: https://market.android.com/details?i...Jpcy5xdXJhbiJd By visiting the app marketplace via your desktop you just login and click install and it will send to your phone [providing you have internet connection on your phone] Please let others know about this app. Revision: iTajweed 1.3 17/04/12 |

I would like to tell you how this development came about:
1. Sat in masjid whilst uncle reading colour coded tajweed on iphone. 2. Checked for availability on android [non suitable found] 3. Started a thread on sunni forum to gather feedback and insight http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/show...the-Android-OS 4. Scripted the design in Google Docs. 5. Search web and found pdf on www.zikr.com http://www.zikr.co.uk/content/view/112/180/ 6. Converted pdf pages to images using software [can not recall name] 7. Got coder on vworker.com to compress images from 600mb to under 100mb. Had to use two coders as first one could not do it properly. 8. Sourced coder on vworker to create application. Required two coders as first one did have a decent go at it but could not do it right. Final coder was from Pakistan and also a hafiz of Quran [subhanAllah] 9. iTajweed icons were created by Umme Ahmad for the pleasure of Allah The project took approx 2 months and incurred the following costs; 1. Convert PDF to images - $0 2. Images compressed - $17 3. Develop app - $100 4. Icons - $0 So with a cost of $117 and 2 months [of course my contribution to that 2 months is probably a few hours] every person that reads from this app I hope to receive the reward [inshAllah] from Allah whilst I am in my grave. The dua's people give is a bonus also. I hope it can inspire others to do simple endeavours like this to create a lasting effect for their dwelling in the grave. |
