Default There will come a time when there will not be a single believer except in Sham
Assalamu alaikum,

dear brothers and sisters,

I was reading a blog where I got this statement by ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr. He said: “There will come a time when there will not be a single believer except that he goes to Sham.”

http://www.themuskplatform.com/2011/...aks-kitab.html

What do u think about this? Does it mean the time of Imam Mahdi and Prophet Jesus' time? or that time will come after them? or that timeline already passed in history?

Salaam

From what I've learned it cant be referring to the past as there millions of believers still in Shaam. It is probably referring to the time period Imam Mahdi and Isa alayhis saalaam.

There is a time approaching the Arabs which fill envelope them with such severe fitna that the killer and killed will be in hell. These are the Days of Al Harj. They include much needless slaughter and culminate in the euphrates revealing gold. This single event causes death of huge numbers of arabs.

Then there are disputes over succession after death of a khalifah. Muslims become split into three camps or armies. This is just before the emergence of the Mahdi.

The Arabs few in number on account of severe disputations anarchy and bloodshed even before the arrival of the Mahdi. After that time when Imam Mahdi assumes leadership because of the number of shaheeds there will be one male guardian for every 50 women.

Abu Dawud narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Hawalah [radhiyallahu 'anhu] that he said: "The Messenger of Allah [sallallahu 'alayhi wa-sallam] said:
"Matters will run their course until you become three armies: an army in Sham, an army in 'Iraq, and an army in the Yemen." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, choose which one I should join." He said: "You should go to Sham, for it is the best of Allah's lands, and the best of His slaves will be drawn there. And if you refuse, then you should go to the Yemen and drink from its
wells. *For Allah has guaranteed me that He will look after Sham and its people."

By the time Isa alayhis salaam comes the number of believers will be extremely low:

Umm Sharik informed that she heard the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) say: The people will flee from Dajjal to the mountains. Umm Sharik said: O Messenger of Allah where will be the Arabs that day? He replied: They will be few. (muslim)

Its like a dress rehearsal before the main event, waters receding revealing treasure looters getting excited, treasure needs protecting....armed guards

Assalaam Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
Scholar Bediuzzaman Said Nursi says:
"There is a narration which says: “At the end of time no one will remain who will say: Allah! Allah!” None knows the Unseen save God, an interpretation of this must be as follows: the sufi meeting-places, the places where God’s Name is recited, and the religious schools (medrese) will be closed, and a name other than ‘Allah’ will used in the marks of Islam, such as the call to prayer and iqama. It does not mean that all mankind is going to fall into absolute disbelief, for denial of God is as irrational as denying the universe. It is not reasonable to suppose it should be thus even with the majority of people, let alone all of them. The unbelievers do not deny God, they are in error only concerning His attributes.
Another interpretation is this: so that they do not experience its terror, the spirits of the believers will be seized a little previously to the end of the world. Doomsday will erupt over the heads of the unbelievers."

Only 4 brothers and sisters contributed so far. But I feel this is a very important matter. Conversely it indicates that there will be no muslim in the full world at that particular time. Most probably, that time will come in the initial years of Imam Mahdi. As at the time when Isa (A) will come down there will be another muslim army winning the battle with India. So it seems that nobody will be counted as muslim if he can't join Imam Mahdi's army.

In the hadith of khurasan also we get similar note: .................You must join that army, you must join even if you have to crawl over the ice..........Here the word 'Must' indicates some obligatory issues like pillars of islam.

What do you think? Am i correct? or wrong?

i dont think any non-muslim government or even muslim puppet government will allow an exodus of muslims to travel to khurasan to join the muslim army. it will be even more difficult for those living in UK as the only way to get across to the mainland will be either by plane or boat and both of them are easily obstructed if the government wishes to do so and i believe that they will.

i think that if people believe that the time is close and they realistically want to join the muslim army then they should be preparing now and placing themselves in a position where they will be able to join the army without hindrance or at least with relative ease. also i believe that they should have some sort of infrastructure (community) where it will be safer to leave the women and children.

Our Ummah started with the Sahabas whose love for Allah is indescribable and it is going to end with people who will say 'laillahaillAllah' only because they heard their anscestors say it. We are in between, more near to the latter i suppose. Just imagine the chaos, thats yet to come! May Allah save us from the fitna of the coming days. Ameen.

you have misunderstood me.

the women and children will make hijrat but they wont be joining the actual army (unless i am mistaken). once they make hijrat and the men join the army the women and children will of course need somewhere to stay. i dont think anyone would want to just leave their family to their own devices and go off and join the army. so something will need to be done for them before the army emerges.

Waálikum assalam,
Excuse me for my misunderstanding.
Anyhow, as you've stated, joining imam mehdi in our times (considering the political environment) will not be an easy task. May Allah (s.w.t) make it easy for us and make us all among the muhajireen.... (Ameen)

the army of khurasan....the black banners?

i dont think there will be an announcement or anything. i think it is the duty of the ulama to study the hadith and the world situation and guide the muslims.

I came across a hadeeth, which seems to suggest that the army from khurasan emerges at a time when food is scarce, and they ask arabia to provide them with their share of bread. This request is refused by the leader (khalifah). Incensed by the refusal and having no real alternative they decide to march over to Arabia and take their share.

When that army begins its march, there is the death of the leader of the arabs with three claimaints to the throne. Imam Mahdi a.s is not one of these nor does he want to be. He escapes Madinah to Makkah and is weeping holding onto the ghilaaf of the Kaaba. It is then his true identity becomes revealed between the maqaame ibraheem and rukhn e yemeni.

As he is receiving oaths of allegiance, the black flags arrive outside the Haram and the arabs try to placate them by agreeing to give them what they have come for.

They say No, we will not go until you make this man your Imam (pointing to Imam Mahdi a.s). Having sworn allegiance the commander of the army is told to turn around and go liberate India and bring its leaders back in chains.

Will try to find the reference for you...inshallah

did a quick search and found this.......

The Prophet (PBUH ) said: “We (I and my family) are members of a household that Allah (SWT) has chosen for them the life of the Hereafter over the life of this world; and the members of my household (Ahlul-Bayt) shall suffer a great affliction and they shall be forcefully expelled from their homes after my death; then there will come people from the East carrying black flags, and they will ask for some good to be given to them, but they shall be refused service; as such, they will wage war and emerge victorious, and will be offered that which they desired in the first place, but they will refuse to accept it till they pass it to a man from my family (Ahlul-Bayt) appears to fill the Earth with justice as it has been filled with corruption. So whoever reaches that (time) ought to come to them even if crawling on the ice/snow since among them is the Vice-regent of Allah (Khalifatullah) al-Mahdi.”
References: Sunan Ibn Majah, v2, Tradition #4082,

is this what you were refering to or is there another hadith?

It is another one. It specifically mentions the khair as food or bread.

Salaams Azhar

I believe so. There is a hadith which the Messenger of Allah s.aw said that the army which will conquer Al Hind has a very very special status.
