From what does that spring? I read that the al Aziz Saud clan spends 20 billion dollars a year building Wahabbist mosques all over the world. I read of the crowds thronging to radicalized people and places. I read and tend to believe that radical violent elements make up a small percentage of all muslims. But like the law of large numbers, small percentages are meaningless. I mean what is the appeal to even, say 24 million people (~2%) that is a huge number. That is probably larger than the sum total of every army on earth. That is bigger than the biggest city.
So let's say what they follow is all rubbish and sock puppets and misinformed snot. OK I'll bite, why is it so appealing? Why is it the same message? Why is it so resistant to compassion or reason or hope? Why is it so easy? Why is it so motivated? Why is it so organized and why does it come from the top down? |

the Muslim people, and hating the ones which his scriptures refer to as the people of the book, then you see a true reflection of his god, Allah Our God is the same as your God. Allah is the arabic translation of God, like in hebrew its Eloh. We pray to the god of Abraham, the all powerful, all merciful supreme being. This just shows that you know nothing about the Kuran, Muslims or their beliefs. Oh forgot thats IMO.... Why is it that Allah is so "merciful" and his followers so "merciless"? |

I would think that a proper definition of a religious extremist would be one that follows the law of their scriptures to the fullest thereby reflecting to the fullest the tenets of their religion. When you look at an orthadox Jew, I think you see the fullness of Judaism if these people are fullfilling the letter and the spirit of the law. When you see an evangelical Christian reflecting the grace and mercy of God in both word and deed, you see the fullness of Christ (I am not referring to those nasty, money grubbing, tele-evangelists with their sordid affairs, etc. who act as if they have never read the New Testament

I recognize the Crusades and the Holocaust and the Witch Hunts as abberations part of a more constructive whole. I recognize the difference between Savanarola and Mother Theresa. And the only thing I am asking is that the rest of the world do the same with Islam. Of course we need to recognize and act against criminals and murderers of innocent people. But seeing all Muslims as the enemy is the first step towards continuing the cycle of violence. |
