i have trouble knowing the difference. i feel connected to many people of like mind, both male and female. as a young woman, i believed my first love was my 'soul mate.' but we were too young to communicate our love effectively; we played a lot of head games and eventually ended up marrying other people and only then could we admit our love for each other. it was bittersweet as we were committed to our spouses and could not do anything but mourn what could have been.

about 10 years ago, i met another man who i felt was my soul mate, the attraction was deep and almost immediate. but i could again do nothing, and either could he. we avoid each other now because it's so strong, and we don't want to cause pain for our mates.

this is the life of a married person, who is committed! what causes the strong attraction to a person is a mystery, but i'd say since it has happened more than once for me, only one true twin soul is probably just a fantasy, and it's more likely we are all connected, and have a few kindred spirits we sync with, for karmic reasons. (i still love the idea of a twin soul though, and sometimes hope i'm wrong!)

well maybe someone can ease my pain or confusion. i am almost positive having a soul mate in this world is real. i am confident i have found my soul mate but the problem is that she is a celebrity. how do i know this? i have had real intensifying and lucid dreams with this girl she is about my age and in one dream i have my arms wrapped around her waist and we are floating in the air and staring into eachothers eyes as if it's deep true love looking into eachothers souls. i swear i feel a true connection with this girl.

i have never met her. if i did i wish i could go up to her and tell her these things or express how i feel about her but unless i'm a celebrity myself i just don't see it happening. she isn't well known. by the way, i am single and have been looking for mrs. right for most of my young adult life and haven't found her yet.

as a person it hurts not to have that significant other with you to love and hold.
personally i believe that to know for sure if this girl is your soul mate you must/will meet her. i can only offer you my own personal experience here. take it for what it's worth. i have found my "soul mate", and its quite clear to me. we first met in college and i can only describe it as magnetic attraction. neither of us were looking for a relationship (probably because of our childhood experiences) but we were just drawn to each other. we rushed nothing, labelled nothing, but just enjoyed the experience of being with one another.

we are literally a physical manifestation of the paradoxical unity/polarity in the universe. its beautiful. all of my weakness, are her strengths, and vice-versa. or at least that was how we started out. exact polar opposites physically/mentally/emotionally but unified in pure love. its amazing to look back on our time together and see how we have grown and changed, slowly approaching a state of complete unity. it's clear to me we incarnated together with the goal of "perfecting" our service to each other, and the depth of self knowledge through unconditional love.

i can tell you emphatically that i would not be awoken with out her unconditional love.

if i can offer a word of advice, trust. if you incarnated with the goal of sto via a "soul mate" it will happen. keep your heart open, be not attached to any outcome. be aware of the sign posts guiding you along your path and when the time is right you two will be reunited to server the creator as you please.

also just a note to clarify you really can feel a "magnetic tug" towards your "soul mate", stay open and centred in the moment don't force anything and be grateful for all experience. it's subtle but it's there. all is well. adaoni.

and a ra quote never hurts either :d

31.7 questioner: thank you. in the previous material you mentioned “magnetic attraction.” would you define and expand upon that term?
ra: i am ra. we used the term to indicate that in your bisexual natures there is that which is of polarity. this polarity may be seen to be variable according to the, shall we say, male/female polarization of each entity, be each entity biologically male or female. thus you may see the magnetism which two entities with the appropriate balance, male/female versus female/male polarity, meeting and thus feeling the attraction which polarized forces will exert, one upon the other.

this is the strength of the bisexual mechanism. it does not take an act of will to decide to feel attraction for one who is oppositely polarized sexually. it will occur in an inevitable sense giving the free flow of energy a proper, shall we say, avenue. this avenue may be blocked by some distortion toward a belief/condition stating to the entity that this attraction is not desired. however, the basic mechanism functions as simply as would, shall we say, the magnet and the iron.

from what i have learned and experienced there are different levels of mates and soul groups.

it appears ...because of how we and this world are made...that there are different factions of existence. we exist here on the planet as human beings and we exist in other realms as spirit/energy beings.

the human aspect is that of being human and all the qualities therein. the spirit aspect is that of being spirit and all those qualities.

when we combine them to be what we are now....we are actually living in two places at once. we are all one...as in spirit we are whole as a group consciousness and all that is in energy form. thus there being no polarity and no separation and no need to deem this and that person as a twin flame/soul or soulmate. one cannot have such separation on the spirit level.

looking at the human paradigm we all long to be loved and to give love in return. we all long to feel intimate on some level with another person. from what i gather we do incarnate as soul groups....as in we come here into families and friends and relationships with those who we have incarnated with before. some of these souls we'll be closer with and some we will not. but the ultimate...the be all end all of relationships is that of the twin flame/soul because it is the most intimate of relationships. when i am with my partner we discuss, feel, do, experience things on a level and in a way we don't experience with anyone else....even our closest friends. well most of us at least. i personally don't get sexual or that intimate with my friends but some might. at any rate...it appears to me that as human beings living here on this earth...we have a longing for love. a longing for a pure unconditional situation/relationship with another person who we can fully trust. someone who knows us as well or better than we know ourselves.

and from what i can also gather these types of relationships are so difficult because we do mirror each other and we do have some things to work out...karma based things...with each other and with our soul groups.

for some the twin flame/soul reunion is the most difficult because it forces us to work on our own stuff. it forces us to see ourselves for who we really are. not easy at all. one cannot be in denial when pursuing or in a twin flame/soul relationship.

there are many websites that dedicate to this topic. some say the twin flame/soul is not in human form but is a guardian angel of sorts....watching and helping us all from the other side.

some say that when the human body was created and the soul was to be inserted into it that the soul did not fit...and had to be split in two...thus creating a separated version of one soul. this is kind of heavy and 'out there' for some people but would help explain the urges we all get to connect and bind and bond with that 'one special person'.

sometimes i think it boils down to trust. because we have all been hurt on some level and we all have trust issues on some level....wouldn't it be reallllly nice if we could find that 'one special person' who we could absofreakinglutely trust? sure it would be.

....and i have been cut off....too many characters....please see my next submission titled 'part 2'

here i am again....sorry to get split up like this. i did not want to pare down what i had to say in order to fit one post as i felt what i am saying is all relevant....

to continue on....

on a different level how do we get beyond this level of being separated? when humans were created and formed how did the cosmos split itself up ...itself...how did it split itself up into individual souls? how and why did it do this...and this is the big gray area...at least for me....but maybe it's my lack of knowledge or understanding on the topic. but it seems to be an area of question...where most of the doubts and arguments about being separate come in.

at any rate....no matter how anyone wants to spin it. from my perspective...we all have that urge to love and be loved....to trust and be trusted....to have the be all end all of loving intimate relationships. so....perhaps this is all a bunch of hooey based on that human aspect....perhaps it's true and valid based on how humans and these worlds and scenarios are created.

personally i do not know. but what i do know is that i am in contact with someone who sparks my soul...someone who i feel i have an everlasting connection with. someone who has shown up in my past life regressions many times....someone who i have always had deep seated problems with in past lives....someone who i keep repeating certain cycles of karma with....someone who i feel intense feelings of love for....someone who i know i will never ever forget....someone who when i look into his eyes i see the whole of the universe. literally. the energy is very powerful in these situations....the energy is through the roof and not easy to handle. the lessons are not easy. but the end result from what i have read and learned and most importantly can feel....is that when two humans come together and blend their energies in this way....it is not a selfish act....it is for the positive cosmic future of mankind. meaning....as two who have rejoined and come together ...we have some serious work ahead of us that will benefit each and every human and soul.

it's very interesting....this mystery. so then....i do my best to embrace it as a mystery...and i see this person in my life as a catalyst for me to do my best personal work so i can be and am a better person.

hope you enjoy the read...thank you for taking the time.

peace out

ps....i think it's interesting how my post got split in two like the theory that our souls were split in two when incarnating as humans. :d

i really don't get this whole soul mate subject and the twin flame seems not so much fun.

i feel like so many dating sites are pumping people up for this super charged moment in life to meet some sort of soul something and i think its really up to fate more then the net. so i get really skeptical with this.

as far as i learned from various sources all over the place the soul mate is someone who like vibrates with you at the same pace and there is a mutual attraction so there must be some kind of similar chemical reaction going on in the body.

one day online this group of us were talking about the twin flame and it made me very sad. it seemed a very painful and heartbroken event that not very many can follow through, like the world was set up to destroy this attraction not maintain it.

so i stay single ha!

ne ways,

to me and what i have read and learned.

soul mate = someone that has a similar vibration and body chemical reaction.
twin flame = fatal attraction, often not maintained by the world.

i think males get a worse reputation with the twin flame story line.

i believe i may have met my soulmate last month. it was love at first sight for both of us and ever since we've been together i've been having more and more synchronicities in terms of numbers and such. 11:11, 2:22, 5:55 etc on the clock daily, and many other examples. we feel like we've been together for 20yrs but in the best possible way. it is a very comfortable and genuine feeling. she's also somewhat familiar with the concepts this website talks about. it's been amazing.

i've wondered a time or two if i had a soul mate. if we choose our parents so we get certain genetics as well as attain life experiences, does that mean my soul mate would resemble me physically as well as psychologically?

i suppose, in a way, if they say we are attracted to people who resemble our parent of the opposite sex, that could be true as well.

however, like bbbb (:d ), i'm afraid my soul mate would probably be boring to be with on a day-to-day basis. although he may enjoy the same things i do, i doubt that would make for much conversation. i like to read, take walks alone, play around on my computer - stuff that doesn't necessarily require a partner.

on the other hand, if i read what ra says correctly, the physical aspects could be quite enjoyable!
i will have to read more about this. do you think it's also possible that if we feel or think something won't work that it won't?

i can recall having a feeling (and this was when i was dating) that something wasn't going to work out. this was at a very good time and it also seemed as if one wouldn't think that at all.
but....it didn't last, and i guess i was right. however, i'm not one who feels you should always rely on gut instinct or on that intuition. it's just at that time, there was nothing to indicate it not working out...everything was going smoothly.

i feel very blessed that i have found my soulmate, but it did not happen until i was 52 years old. and it happened when i discovered a new people, a new community, a new teacher, and i had to surrender a business (most of it), old friends, etc. the community came first, then a teacher, then fellowship with other men. the soulmate came last, but what a wonderful completion then opened up. we never run out of things to talk about. separations are still necessary, for business and family reasons, but we always find wonderful reunions. so, this would be my general advice: seek truth first, seek a community, seek a teacher. then your soulmate will find you!

be careful what you wish for!! ;o)

for many years i always said i wanted to meet the male version of me.. and i think i got him!!

we were friends first and we realised that we had the same background, we experienced the same major identical things happen, we had soo much in common..

if say i had a small spot on my right hand side of my face, he would come out in one on his left hand side.. (like a mirror image).

there are alot of positives as we can relate so much.. but there are also negatives..

if i go through a problem in which i learn and grow.. i think phew.. thats that finished.. no.. he will go through the same situation down the line.. and i will have to go through it again but from the outside looking in... (almost like seeing it from a different perspective in which i am now the spectator not the participant). although i get the full experience, it can mean i have to go through the same situation twice. as well, if i suceed in something pretty quickly, i will find he wont be so lucky (and vice versa) and i will get frustrated as i know the solution but will have to go through some of the emotions associated with the problem anyhow .. as well in areas you lack, you might find they dont (and vice versa) this can be a very positive learning tool.

all in all though, it feels like "it is meant to be".. and i believe one of the reasons why we meet our soul mate is to deepen our experiences, to teach us, to learn even more lessons and to show more of ourself from watching another. like the other posters, you instinctively feel like you have known them for many years..

heres hoping you all meet your soul mate soon.. )
