Default Body asleep, mind awake
I haven't had a fully conscious OBE yet, but I'm working on it.

I went to bed last night with the intention of trying the body asleep, mind awake method, AKA borderland (borderline) sleep. I thought I would just lie in bed and let my body relax and go to sleep while keeping the mind alert.

As it happened, I drifted off into full sleep, but woke up a couple hours later. I kept my body in a relaxed state and attempted to keep my mind alert. I drifted off again.

I awoke yet again a couple hours later and again kept body relaxed and mind alert. I felt my body drifting deeper and deeper, and yet kept my mind alert, which in itself was a sort of success. I then tried the Monroe idea of "reaching" from the top of my head for the vibrations. At first there was no success and I stopped trying. But then a bit later I noticed a vibrating sensation in my head.

That's about as far as I got with it tonight.

I agree with Oliver, this is progress. It's likely when you do this that, even if you don't feel a classic projection exit, you will have a lucid dream, which, in my book at least, is every bit as good.
