But the files I want to copy are neither Music, Movies nor TV shows. Until you'd asked I never bothered to try... ...but out of curiosity I wondered if I could gain access to files if I hosted them first from my Hard Drive through my Apple iDisk Utility so i chose a document at random, uploaded it to my iDisk ![]() then connected to that through iPhone! and waddiyano? IT WORKED! OK, doano about hosting a document from a PC, but I know that the Latest Apple Tech that was in the works before Steve Jobs passed on was a Utility called iCloud that was open to PC users as well, but I'm not sure about the System Requirements necessary to use it....... personally. it's beyond on capabilities on my grossly outdated 'puter. iCloud Documents in iCloud Setting Up iCloud on a Windows PC Edit: WOW THAT'S SO KEWL! |

idisk? Never seen it before. But sorted my issues out - I wanted to get a file to a particular app on the iphone, turned out to be a convoluted series of syncing steps.
Came across another anomaly this morning - a newly assigned iphone with a known good SIM was showing no service and would only allow emergency calls to be made. Plugged it into a newly rebuilt laptop with itunes installed, and while itunes recognised it, it would not do anything with it. After much hair pulling and swearing, I gave up and got the laptop set up to connect to our work wifi. Within seconds, the phone made lots of positive sounds and it all came good. Itunes talked to it, found its real name, the phone was happy and found service and all lived happily ever after. *shakes head* It's a f'nerkin phone, why do we need to jump through so many hoops just to get the ability to make phonecalls? |
