Default Cannot Find Server
Ok, as some of you may know I did a reformat on my niece's computer. I'm finally getting back to wrapping up some loose ends. My final task is getting the internet to work. I am connected to the network. I have full green bars at the bottom, however, when I try to browse the internet (trying to update windows) it gives me the Cannot Find Server error. Funny thing is, I went to a neighbor of mine that does IT Support for AT&T. He connected the laptop to his network just fine and we were able to finish getting the drivers on there. So I've seen this thing connect and browse. But over here at my house I cant get it to go anywhere.

Dell Inspiron

Running windows xp home edition

The router is from netgear

I know that if I lose my connection, I have to shut my computer down and go down into my parents apartment and shut their's down and it usually boots me back up with connectivity.

Are you able to route to anything using an IP Address?
Have you tried using network cable instead of the wireless? Any logs on the router?
