Default Suddendisconnect.
Anyone else on Suddendisconnect? I was down for 8 hours on phone and internet today. Called the tech support line and either got a recording that much of Midland was down or a fast busy signal?

Wonder if there DST patches puked on them.

I have Suddenlink INTERNETS and didn't have any problems today.
But I was in a beauty shop getting my curlies cut today,
and over heard other people talking about theirs being down.

Mine was fine, I use Suddenlink too, but I wouldn't be surprised if the patches puked because we had hell at work getting ready for this!

My SoddenDisconnect was down yesterday also. I'm made the decision to go back to DSL w/ AT&T as soon as my pricing contract expires.

I was told that Suddenlink all over will be out at one point or another because they have not changed all their lines over from Cox and it is going to take alot of time to get it done. I just don't understand what they mean by "Changing their lines"? I don't remember seeing them run new cable around town?

I had major problems early last year with the internet disconnecting often, still under COX control. The cable TVs were still working fine. I do not use telephone services from suddenlink. I installed a 1GHz bi-directional cable amplifier from CE Labs, installed it and the troubles stopped. The picture quality improved as well.

Last week the internet was down for over 5 hours during 2 different occasions. I believe they were having troubles, or upgrading. I haven't experienced any problems since. But I hear all of you... drives me nuts when this sort of thing happens.

Oh, and one thing I failed to mention... the best thing is CE Labs is a Texas-based company.

does cox/suddenlink have a pricing contract?

until recently i have had minimal issues with cox/suddenlink in four years. can't say the same for dial-up services.

and it is a MIRACLE .... my message tools after not working for about a week have MIRACULOUSLY began to function again ... ain't that something?

OH! Nline, it just clicked in my mind this morning why the Suddenlink
phone lines were off the past couple of days. They sent out letters
about a month ago, and then a followup reminder about a week ago,
that they were switching the old Cox lines over to the Sprint network.
And the dates of the switch was early March for a couple of days.
So that explains it. So it should have just been a temporary thing for
that one day only.

I have a Suddenlink phone and high speed internet all in one cable,
but I use that phone line as a dedicated fax line, so didn't notice
the effect. I use my cell phone for all conversational talk.

KAY, I thought you used MSN as per the conversation in Tech Talk.

Yes I do. I have Suddenlink high speed for the connection, and then I use
MSN premium services just because I like them. I sorta double pay, but it's
worth it to me. I love MSN.

I agree w/ Kay. I got a letter last month saying our static IP business cable account was getting new a new IP, new gateway and DNS servers.

Seems all the glitches and outages are all a part of reconfiguring everything to take it out of cox's name. Just like the dozen or more "trueswitch" emails I've been getting with people who are forced into @suddenlink email addresses.

Why go through all of this email switcing when a domain with web and email can be had for as little as $36 a year.

Oh this is certainly related to the switch overs to Suddenlink. Cox is lending them there servers and equipment as part of the buy out and Suddenlink is having to take over providing that equipment. This just isn't going as smooth as promised. This was supposed to occur on the 1st of March with down time occurring overnight. Like everything with Suddenlink it is running behind. COX will terminate there lines as I understand it on June 15th wheather SL is ready or not.

MAV, we actually do the same thing. We have high-speed cable at the house and also subscribe to MSN as well. The reason? Well, we used dial up for quite sometime at the office because cable period is not available in the area. Recently we switched over to wireless provided from NetWest (our host) because we were able to retrieve a signal from one of the buildings downtown. We keep MSN as a backup just in case we still have to "dial up" due to a malfunction, which was a good idea because it did happen in January. NetWest had to switch our IP and DNS addresses and then it was all good, but still took 2 business days... and the internet is crucial. Now I'm thinking, what did we all do without the internet in the first place? Must have been a lonely world.
