Default Just wanted to brag a little....
So, last night at Wal-mart, they were selling the Nintendo Wii's at 12:01am.
I decided to go to the south side one to avoid the crowd, but there was already a line (I walked up to the back of the line at 11:30pm, by the way, none of that 'sitting there all day' for me).

They started selling and when I got up to the counter, I bought the LAST ONE. Talk about lucky. So I set it up that night and went to bed around 2am.

Anyway, just thought it would be fun to brag a little since all of those people camped out over 3 days to get one and I just had to wait 30 minutes. hehe

yeah, i made mention of this in that "where do you shop for electronics" thread/poll. Have you played it? What games? do you like it? etc etc...is it worth the money is pretty much what I'm asking!

Yes, I've played it. I set it up the night I got back and played until 2am.
I bought Red Steel and Zelda: Twilight Princess (plus it came with Wii Sports).

The first game I tried was Wii Sports, just to see how the remote worked as advertised. All I can say is that I had a huge smile on my face. It works great!

For Red Steel (being a FPS) it took a little to get used to the controls, such as aiming the gun with your right hand. It's just weird after playing a controller for so long. Anyway, I still am not 100% used to it, but it's fun to play.

As for Zelda, it's amazing. You swing your sword (the remote) or you can move the nunchuck attachment back and forth for a special attack. There's just a lot of stuff like this throughout the game (such as fishing and actually having to pull up on the remote to catch the fish).

I thought that my arms would be tired from flailing them around, but once you get into it, you realize you can play with just moving your wrist instead of your whole arm, so it's really not tiring at all.

As for it being worth the money, I'd say yes. Being the cheapest console was one of the big reasons I wanted it, along with the new gameplay via the remote.

Hope that answered your questions!

My son played the PS3 last night and he could not quit talking about it! He could not get over the controller, he played NBA. Of course, for that price, it better be pretty amazing.

There's no way I'd ever pay over $500-600 for a game console.
The Blu-ray player in it doesn't even tempt me. There's no use supporting the new formats and having to pay $30 a DVD. It's just way too overpriced.

does the "attachment" that you speak of...the other part of the controller...does it come with the system or is it just another one of those things that you have to pay extra for? I saw some wii points last night (like the microsoft points for xbox)...what are those for? Is there online gaming with this?

The nunchuck attachment comes with it. In the box you will find the sensor bar, the Wii console, remote, nunchuck attachment, batteries, Wii Sports, manuals, and all the cables.

The Wii Points are for the WiiConnect24 store. You can go on there and buy games from the NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, TurboGrafix, and Genesis consoles.

Oh yeah, and instead of a memory card, you can use SD cards (like the ones you use for digital cameras) to put your saved games on.
