I have a friend (no really, its not me) that has a small computer business as a side venture. Back in April he sold a laptop to someone who had a good rating via eBay. All transactions were smooth and the laptop got shipped out. Now here it is August and he gets an alert from Paypal informing him that the owner of the credit card used to pay for said laptop has filed a report saying they did not buy the item and that all the funds ($1500 and change) has been withdrawn from his bank account. This is actually the second time something like this has happened to him, luckily the first time he was able to catch the product before it left the distributor. Is there anything he can do to fight this thing? He seems to think he just needs to file bankruptcy and say the hell with it. As you could probably tell his side business isn’t doing so well. Thanks for any helpful input.
