I did have my drivers license on me. And yes its hard to get money out at the weekend :/

Correct me if im wrong, But my card has my name on it. So it does belong to me?

Your wrong.
Read your T&C's with regards bank cards.
You will see "The card remains the property of the bank at all times" within them.
