Compared to what, the stuff in the first post? I mean, don't get me wrong, if you find it hard to take seriously an american band singing about ancient egyptian culture and religion, I don't begrudge you at all. There's a lot of fantasy in the metal genre, and fantasy is never meant to be taken seriously IMO. If on the other hand you're just referring to the vocal style, then I think you've made a mistake. It doesn't take much effort to understand the lyrics, and the feeling and emotion come across so strongly that even bands that sing in languages I don't understand are enjoyable to listen to. You're missing out on hundreds of genres with thousands of truly spectacular bands.
