Extreme Astronomy? When the sun is dimmer (by a lot) than the red LEDs in your alarm clock/radio, you can risk it. Go look at the Google page and look at the first "o" and the "e" and you'll see just how "bright" the sun was at that time through clouds thick with the ashes of trees and woodland creatures. Hell, this smiley is brighter red than the sun was.
