Default 2010 US Census Interactive Maps
NY Times did a great job displaying the results of the 2010 US census. They have maps that break it down every single community as follows

1. Race(White, Black, Hispanic, Asian) distribution, largest ethnicity, changes from 2000
2. Change in Population
3. Population Density
4. Occupied and Vacant Housing, Change in Vacant Housing

Check out your neighborhood, it actually breaks it down even further than townships/cities.

"Hispanic" population distribution in the US (pic 1), "hispanics" are concentrated in the Southwest, but areas of the South such as Alabama have posted big gains in Hispanic population share (multiply numbers on the legend by 100 to get population percentages), in many South states, the "Hispanic population" has doubled on ten years ago, with "Hispanics" outstripping "whites" for the first time in New Mexico - 46 to 40 per cent; "African American" population distribution in the US (pic 2), these results show less of a reverse general migration of black people from the north to the south, some cities in the North and South are becoming magnets for "black people", but other areas traditionally-popular with "black people" like Chicago are becoming less popular;

No, no. Smelly monkey Hindoos, not Native Americans.

There are almost as many of them as whites in my town. Granted "Asian" also includes East/South East Asians but walking the town it's mostly Indians and Pakis.

Yeah for Middlesex most of the Asian is actually Indian. For example, in 2010 Edison is 43%, Asian but probably 30-35% of is South Asian.

According to the 2010 US Census there are 14,674,252 "Asian Americans" in the US ("Asian Americans" alone). And 17,320,856 "Asian Americans" including "mixed-raced Asians".

I don't know, but I would assume so yes. "Asian Hispanics"? How many categories does the US Census have?

Joisey in the house. Given out the 411 on the Garden State, ya heard?

Wow, in the past ten years a large number of Whites have left the town I was raised and a much larger number of Hispanics have settled. When I was 9 I rarely ever saw a brown face in town. So many changes in a short period of time.

Well first have a category of Hispanic or Non-Hispanic. Because Hispanic can encompass white, black, asian, mixed or other.

Then we have White, Black, Asian, Pacific Island/Hawaiian, and Native American

---------- Post added 2011-04-01 at 16:35 ----------

So this census dit not ask about national oriigin (German, Italian, etc..??)

---------- Post added 2011-04-01 at 16:37 ----------

I also wonder why so many Hispanics identify themselves as being Whites (53% of them), if most of them are not considered to be Whites in America??

They do keep track of ethnic oigin. That will come out soon enough if it hasn't already.

I also wonder why so many Hispanics identify themselves as being Whites (53% of them), if most of them are not considered to be Whites in America?? They are considered White on offical records unless they're obviously Black. Scroll through the FBI most wanted.

Look at this asshole:

Harold Rangel has been indicted for bribing a bank officer and falsifying bank records. He is also under investigation for his alleged participation in a high yield investment and mortgage fraud conspiracy that was operating in the Los Angeles area. The scheme targeted approximately 600 Latino families, causing them to invest more than $35 million.

After Rangel failed to appear at a pre-trial hearing, a warrant for his arrest was issued by the United States District Court, Central District of California, on February 11, 2009. A second federal warrant was issued on July 16, 2009, after Rangel was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

200k? Wow, that's a very high number and a very high rate of growth, considering there were 120k in 2000. Immigration doesn't seem to stop in the US.

America's child population grew more far diverse over the past decade as a decline in the ranks of white children was offset by surging growth of Asians and Hispanics. All told in 2010, the Census Bureau counted 74.2 million people under age 18, up 1.9 million from 2000. The number of non-Hispanic whites fell in 46 states and 86 of the 100 largest metropolitan areas. In 10 states, white children are now a minority among their peers, including six that tipped between 2000 and 2010. Others will follow soon: In 23 states, minorities make up more than 40% of the child population. The number of black and Native American children declined as well, but by a far smaller degree than whites, according to an analysis of 2010 Census data to be released Wednesday by the Brookings Institution, a left-leaning think tank in Washington. The Census Bureau released the first results of its once-a-decade head count of U.S. residents, regardless of citizenship, late last year; over subsequent months, Census released state and local data. The report reflects a transformation under way in the country's racial and ethnic makeup. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...od=rss_US_News

America’s population of white children, a majority now, will be in the minority during this decade, sooner than previously expected, according to a new report. The Census Bureau had originally forecast that 2023 would be the tipping point for the minority population under the age of 18. But rapid growth among Latinos, Asians and people of more than one race has pushed it earlier, to 2019, according to William Frey, the senior demographer at the Brookings Institution who wrote the report about the shift, which has far-reaching political and policy implications. The single largest increase was among Hispanics, whose birthrates are far above those of non-Hispanic whites, largely because the white population is aging and proportionally has fewer women in their child-bearing years. The median age of whites is 41, compared with 27 for Hispanics, the report said. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/06/us...?_r=2&src=recg
