I bought the album based on a mere whim from a very positive impression of the "Clap Your Hands" video--after I had heard another song of hers...a ballad....I've only heard the album once--earlier today--but what fun! I look forward to spinning it again while I drive upstate on 4th of July weekend--if I don't again before that time!

Just listened to 95% of the proper album yesterday on a road trip... dancey, 80's, fun, etc. It also just hit me how much "Never Gonna Leave Me" sounds like the theme from The Office....

Of course, since is this is the first really high-quality vid I've seen of Cloud live, I was finally able to discern that she was singing "I am a dark cloud swelling with RAIN," and not "I am a dark cloud swelling with LIGHT," which is what it sort of sounds like to me on the album cut. I had to fix my signature. Damn her and her curious phrasing.

I love that live she sounds like she's singing with a mouthful of marbles and yet somehow it totally works for me. My other favorite from that Vevo set was Clap Your Hands. She doesn't even sing the final choruses, she just starts wailing/belting over the title track. Uh-mazing. (...is that dress she's wearing made of garbage bag strips?)

We Are Born is so different from Some People Have Real Problems, which was my most-played album last year next to Lungs, and I think I'm going to wear it out by the end of the month!

I bought a digital copy of We Are Born on iTunes, but the making of video didn't download for some reason. I'm going to have to call them or something, because I can't get enough of her interviews. She's just too adorable and overall awesome.
