Charlie Sheen is at it again.

The crazed actor, whose rants against Two and a Half Men and creator Chuck Lorre gave CBS no choice but to effectively cancel that sitcom, called in to Pat O'Brien on the radio today.


Charlie Sheen Responds to Chuck Lorre

In the face of reports that state Sheen will NOT be paid for the remainder of this season, the cocaine lover railed:

"Defeat is not an option. They know what they did was wrong; they are in absolute breach [of contract]. I did nothing wrong... I expressed an opinion, I have the first amendment and I have an army marching behind me, to quote Eminem.”

Sigh. Someday, people might actually comprehend the first amendment. It simply states one cannot be jailed for expressing one's opinion. It has absolutely nothing to do with an employer punishing an employee for his words or conduct.

Referring to Lorre and collaborator Lee Arohnson, Sheen says “these guys are a couple of AA Nazis and just blatant hypocrites," while adding that CBS executives ought to be lining up to thank him. And do other things to him:

“I put a billion dollars in the studio’s pockets and I put half a billion dollars in Chuck’s pocket. I should of been walking in to massages and hand jobs. Yeah, I said it!”

Finally a CS deathwatch thread! Someone on FB not only defended his actions but applauded them today. The shit storm that hit that post was so total that I had no need to add to it.

So, I liked it because it was Jon Cryer doing something post Pretty in Pink. Everything else after that was super cringe worthy. I always found Charlie Sheen to be gross anyway, though. His cocaine and stripper escapades haven't shocked me at all. I feel sorry for Martin, because I find him respectable. But Charlie has always come off as super sketchy to me.

He abuses women, wrecks cars, fucks up a show that (as bad as it is) is the livelihood of dozens of people, makes anti-Semitic cracks about Chuck Lorre, and generally just acts like a raging drug-loaded asshole. And a lot of guys regard him as a lovable rogue, someone who's living an ideal lifestyle. In. Fuck. Credible.

And yeah, I feel for his dad. Martin is a guy who not only came all the way back from his own addiction, but is also a great actor and tireless lefty advocate. (Lefty Catholic advocate, which means I don't agree with him on everything, but the man walks his talk.) Charlie has the perfect role model, right there, and he just keeps up the sordid and selfish bullshit.

Of course, I still root for his recovery like I would for any other alcoholic/addict. But I can't say I'm optimistic.

hes a longterm douche though. i remember back in my teen-bop days there were pictures of charlie "and friend" who usually turned out to be some skanky porn start, like ginger lynn. i have a hard time with the defender since charlie isnt really just living life to the excess in a bubble. it affects his kids, his family, his coworkers. his latest rants creep me out though being that he IS a longterm douche yet hasnt been so mel gibson style vocal about it until now. hence the desperate need for a deathwatch! a total megalomaniac indeed. but also, that show really REALLY sucks. it does provide the evidence that there is no end of oversized bowling shirts available to wardrobe.

Yep. LiLo is in bad shape, and has done her share of assholish things, but Charlie is a grade A, supercharged, megaton asshole and he is regarded with less contempt than she is. People claim, with some justification, that she's had no consequences for her behavior, but he gets praise for his! (At least from a particularly pathetic subset of the male gender.)

And as per what Helen said about the kids, he had A HUGE COKE-BOOZE MELTDOWN with a PORN STAR LOCKED IN HIS BATHROOM when HIS KIDS WERE STAYING DOWN THE FUCKING HALL. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near them right now. And if he had a vag instead of a Johnson, he wouldn't be.

In my earlier post, I hope I didn't give the impression of defending Sheen. It's just that his actions indicate that there's way more going on than classic addiction and/or douchebaggery. My impression is that he is far, far over the edge. All this, "You're afraid of my power" seems closer to megalomania and grand delusions than run-of-the-mill celebrity narcissism. Even a big-headed celebrity knows better than to say those things out loud, let alone as part of a released statement. Maybe it's a bipolar issue, I dunno. But the dude is seriously fucked up and I feel bad for his kids, his parents (is his Mom still alive? I never hear about her), and the rest of his family.
