I let our cat back into the house after he had tangled with a skunk. As soon as he walked in the door I realized my mistake, but then I compounded it by immediately shouting "Noooo!" and leaping towards the cat. Really bad move, as the cat is a) easily spooked, and b) much quicker than me. Took me quite a while to catch him, and we essentially ended up defumigating the whole house because of it.....

Today on my blood donation form I said that I'd gotten an allergy shot two weeks ago (since we're supposed to report all shots we've gotten in the past four weeks). Every time I've donated blood I'd had an allergy shot two weeks prior (since I get an allergy shot every two weeks), it has never resulted in a deferral, and yet I keep reporting it anyway. Today it bit me on the ass, because the lady conducting the pre-donation "are you gay" interview had no idea if allergy shots result in a deferral, spent ten minutes failing to look it up in her Big Book of Deferrals, and then spent a half hour on the phone trying to get ahold of somebody who knew if allergy shots result in a deferral. Between her, and the guy on the cot adjacent to me who got light-headed right when the phlebotomist was about to stick me, and the guy on the other cot adjacent to me who passed out right when the phlebotomist was about to stick me, today's blood donation ate up two hours of my time. Next time I'm not reporting the allergy shot.
