Hang with it, just keep in mind that school is a temporary thing, and while it might seem like forever now, it will be over with before you know it. I'm back working on a second master's degree after not being a student for almost 15 years. Doing it on top of a job that requires about 50 hours a week is kicking my butt, but I know it will pay off in the long run. School is short, you'll be working on average 30+ years.

Thanks for the advice... it's sooo hard to buckle down.

I have a Lamborghini Countach LP500S on my wall... and a few more cars:

NISMO Z-Tune
Nissan GT-R (2009 - 4 Feet by 8 feet)
And well... just alot of GT-R's.

I walk in though and just see em and say hmmm they're nice

I feel bad that they don't motivate me.

Steve.

Just out of curiousity, how much is your minimum wage there in your part of Canada? Also what is rent? I spend at least 4000 every month just in school plus rent and grocceries and I live in San Francisco. Which means, EVERYTHING is expensive ranging from rent to tax. Our minimum wage here is $9.36 US and tax is 8.5%. I am currently working 2 jobs and on top of that I have to spend at least 15 hours a day working on my clay models. The only thing I do is work and school, its just a price to pay for going into the industry I want to.

I am guessing steve is in Ontario, the tax there is what now? 13 percent? min wage is 8.75 canadian now, as of march 31st.

I can't speak for cost of living out east in ontario, but the job market here out west in BC is actually good and people are hiring and there are help wanted signs in a lot of places. But living costs out west are ridiculous.

Steve, high school can be rough that's for sure, but once you enter university or some post secondary school, you will really cherish those years and will see them as great fun.

Wait, steve is in high school? Well that makes a difference between that and college. Tuition along will cost an arm or an leg. That plus cost of living, supplies especially at an Art School and other expenses such as a car and gas, it is much worse than high school. I never had to work as hard in high school and I was in all APs by senior year. That and varsity basketball and volleyball should have killed me. Little did I know, college is much worse especially if you are trying to do it all on your own even if your parents want to help.

My advice is to get ahead of your work so you you're not trying to finish things all on one night. This has helped me so many times that it's now automatic in my thinking system. Also be organised so you can't lose anything.
Being well educated is your whole life. If you 'bludge' at the crucial stage that you're at, you will regret it.
Look at it from a different point of view and enjoy it because it can be fun!

What do you really want to achieve? Is it a good step in the search for your happiness?

Yes ---> Go ahead and do it. Write down a strategy that identifies the main issues why your time isn't being as well managed as it has to be to do what you have to do, or if it is, then what do you have to drop.

No ---> Then what will contribute to your happiness? Quit what you're doing now and search for what you really want.

Personally, I am studying industrial design and I hope to end up in car design. I am aware of the slim possibility of this coming to reality, but the passion for what I do keeps me going. I also have to work and pay for uni and rent and groceries and my car which requires enough fuel, tyvm, considering I live in the neighbour state to where my uni and work are. But if you organize your costs, keep track of them, and organize what you want to do with collage or whatever you're doing, you should be fine.

It all comes down to - do you really want to do this?
