Yeah, I guess it is good coverage if you consider an extreme anti western view as good. I made it 25 seconds into a syrian RT vid today. I had to turn it when they brought on the typical no name that RT finds (no one with any real reputation would be caught dead on RT if the could help it) and of course, am told it is western manipulation and that the riots in syria are peaceful. It is not extreme anti western at all it is just truthfull and says things that western FUNDED channels / sites like bbc and fox dont say..... Go and live in your sugar coated bubble and god bless america! If I have a "severe case of nutter" then you have a severe case of "low IQ sheeple, sugar coated idiosy syndrome" |

Er why do I have a severe case of the "nutter"? Because I like non sugar coated and biased news? Sorry lets all go and watch the sugar coated, goverment funded news channels because they give a much more balanced and truthfull view of stories relating to their own countries (idiot) I know you have a chip on your shoulder. Most crazies do. |

Lol what a retard.... I am not a crazy with a chip on my shoulder... "The Misconception: When your beliefs are challenged with facts, you alter your opinions and incorporate the new information into your thinking. The Truth: When your deepest convictions are challenged by contradictory evidence, your beliefs get stronger." Ah well. May as well give it a shot. Took me about 10 seconds to google this, I had never even heard of RT news until this thread. The network was launched by the autonomous non-profit organization ANO TV-Novosti in 2005, but much of the funding to this organization is injected from the Russian Federal Budget (2.4 billion rubles in 2007).[8][9] This is equivalent to 82.56 million August 8, 2011 U.S. dollars. Source So objectively, I would say that the station IS influenced by a government, and that its views on the world are most likely skewed by such an involvement. |

Jeez I dont even like RT very much I was just saying out of the choice of news channels I have (BBC news, Sky News, RT) It gives the most non sugar coated reporting relating to things happening in the UK and USA such as the economy etc.... Yes they are probably biased towards russia or something but tbh it is more truthfull and informative the BBC news or SKY news when talking about the economy and the current problems... I try not to watch to much mainstream news channels in general tbh...
If you want to hear about the truth behind the economy and the wall street etc. (the main current affairs) then RT is a better source then Sky or BBC news because none of the latter 2 channels actually give anything away... Because they are the main american and UK news channels so they sugar coat the whole thing... If it makes you feel happier or better about the world to just watch BBC news or SKY news and believe everything that is said then that is fine but dont accuse people of being crazies just because they are aware that there is more to it then what is shown on those channels! |

snip Rofl. you are the one that mentioned RT as a good source of truthful news. You are stuck with it. [rofl] That you chose RT and were so oblivious to the blatant propaganda bleeding from every news cast... a great judge of sincerity you are not. |

Russia today are marginally better then BBC news, Fox etc... But the best place is on non biased / influenced, independant websites like that one posted IMO.... Pretty much the same level as Fox News now. They didn't even censor it. All news have some type of bias. |

I dont even watch russia today much, I merely was watching them about the economy and how corrupt americas banking elite etc are... and also the police brutality at the wallstreet protests... For that it was usefull... otherwise the channel is admittedly biased towards russia and not great....
I watch all of the news channels now and again and take them with a pinch of salt.... I get my news from the internet mainly.... I dont know WTF u are on about with this "denial denial" thing LOL because you are the one who is in denial if you think russia today are not telling more truth about the economy then american and UK news channels are LOL... Jeez i hate people that are narrow minded and start insulting other people and calling them names when they are presented with something other then what they accept as normal... Typical narrow minded idiocy tbh... |

The BBC is funded by pretty much a direct yearly tax levied on TV owners. One thing I will say about TV channels is that they give their watchers what they want, if RT is aimed at Russians, then they'll kick the west when they can. The only real litmus test for a press office is how harsh they are on their own government (and every political party involved), and will they be straight up when the people who ultimately own them are under scrutiny. |
