MSNBC is far left, CNN is left of center, and FOXNews is right of center. I watch Fox news only because they are the only right leaning news station on TV. It's nice to see someone with similar opinions. Why would any conservative watch any other news station? Of course its not to say its the best source of news but for TV its more entering than me trying to watch MSNBC. |

It's incorrect to say something like "They're all the same." I agree that the all news channels in America place profit before accuracy and content and that they are all the same in this sense, and bad for this reason as well, but they're not all the same in the extent to which they pander to their owners' interests.
CNN, for example, delivers low quality, vapid content that's substantially just advertising. It's bad news. CNN is right of Twitter. Fox News, though, is unabashedly extreme right for both opinion and news and it's in basically a whole league of its own in terms of the extent to which it delivers biased content. It doesn't deliver bad news, it delivers purposely-crafted propaganda that's specifically designed to trigger emotional responses. It's heavily qualitative and based on emotional appeal. It is an echo chamber for "conservatives" that outright lies and deceives for political effect. If you had a choice between Fox News and nothing, you'd likely be better off with nothing because at least you wouldn't foam at the mouth over imagined threats. |

I think the best source of news is the internet as long as you know where to look..... The mainstream news channels - although I do watch them sometimes are definately ranging from "take with a pinch of salt" to "this is complete bollocks"... If you were to do some research into the people that actually fund and make decisions for these corporations you would probably agree lol.... I think the UK news is somewhat better then the American news channels but it is still pretty poor if you compare it to what it could be if it was totally unbiased and unfiltered.
I also agree that a lot of the time you are actually better off not watching the news then watching it on TV because they are always trying to subtley push some government agenda onto you or influence you in some way which you may or may not realise... |
