Who doesn't when they're overtaking?
You may overtake but not exceed the maximum speedlimit.

This is when a tractor is driving or slow driving construction vehicles etc.. etc..

When you overtake, you already made the decission to speed to pass them quickly and "savely".

But no one forced you to overtake, it was your decission and by that decission you crossed the limit by 17mp/h. Unluckely you have been seen and recorded doing that.

Pay the fine and cash the points. Taking it higher will cost you more and probably still taking 3 points from you.

Than you are done with.
