All is good and well, though I've recently nabbed up an architecture position with the feds @ Ft Meade. Just have to wait until my clearance is upgraded, schedule another poly, etc. In the meantime, the fiancee and I are going to ski it up. As of two weeks ago, she's officially got her MD. [thumbup]
Congrats to your fiancee! Must be a huge weight off both of your shoulders.

Indeed it is! It was an even bigger weight of our shoulders that she pre-matched to a hospital local to us, so we can go ahead and start settling down in this area.

Now THAT would be pretty cool. What parts or systems do you typically design?
well since im a newbie. i work in a group that is customer sales order support. so i dont make any big design decisions... for some reason, fire chiefs like to customize their trucks a lot. the options can vary, and since we are the leader in this field, we cater to whatever they want. I can be thrown on anything, but i do a lot with different lighting packages.

my design work involves setting up the parts in 3d space, creating any new bracketry or whathaveyou that is required to mount said lights and what not, routing wire harnesses in 3d and then making all the prints associated with the options for the assembler to look at for instructions on how to put it together.

most recently i am working on a new high pressure drychemical system, just finished up a front mounted winch, new telescopic worklights, water and foam level light package, new LED beacon's, and driver vision rear mounted camera systems and things of that nature

probably more than what you cared for but [thumbup]

Sounds pretty interesting since you aren't just doing one thing. [thumbup] Curious though, EE, ME, or something else? I've been in medical devices for the past year and a half, and while I like it quite a bit, I think that since I'm losing this job, I may look into some different industries. It sure is cushy, though.

Or an elaborate, politically correct way of calling himself a Pimp?

Enterprise Architect (Title is CEO, but meh)

BS: Computer Science
BS: Math Science

A slew of alphabet soup... Red Hat, Microsoft, Cisco, EMC, Sun, Juniper, PMP, ITIL, etc etc.

Went to college @ 15, started consulting and working as a systems analyst in the college's computer center at the same time. Went through a few public/private sector jobs until 2004, then went exclusive to the DoD/IC. Left that in December of last year to do nothing but, since managing the outside business had always been something on the side.

I have three small businesses operating throughout Maryland, West Virginia and Kentucky. Doing everything from network management, datacenter operations, application and storage hosting, managed services, etc etc... Also doing custom web apps and document management built on various COTS ERM apps. Most recently we've began offering home/home office support, kind of like a high-end version of best buy's geek squad.

[thumbup]
