you mean you charge like $3000 to a poor desperate fool? Ive tried those placement agencies b4, its a scam I know recruitment agencies get a bad press but as a candidate I have always had excellent service from them. As an employer though, I have to say my experience is 50/50 love hate. Too many agencies are too pushy and send through candidates that have not been vetted and have no experience. |

Sounds pretty interesting since you aren't just doing one thing. [thumbup] Curious though, EE, ME, or something else? I've been in medical devices for the past year and a half, and while I like it quite a bit, I think that since I'm losing this job, I may look into some different industries. It sure is cushy, though. Seriously, looks like a maintainance type position which would suit me, but there's also a sales aspect I'm not experienced with - however, I'm told I can "talk the talk" when required. Money probably isn't great but less than a five minute drive from home - so that makes up a fair bit. |

I´m working as a apprentice for the next German Dictator.
Atm the pay is rather lousy and we aren´t really getting anywhere. For some reason we just aren´t getting our ideas through to the people. All our great plans and visions haven´t been constructed yet, No camps with grills have been been built, nor have any gas chambers been built (for the massive amounts of propane that will be needed for all those delicious gas grills) We have some wicked BBQ recipes (hit me on Facebook ! i´ll pass some through) but i guess it won´t take long till we rise to power and my position will be honoured by the masses and will really start to pay off. In the end it´s all for human benefit, of course it won´t take long till some countries form an alliance and try to destroy our effort in ruling the world,.. but meh,.. atm i spend most of my time printing fliers and throwing them in peoples mailboxes. (getting yelled at constantly ![]() Im a Precision Engineer (Industrial Mechanic) with various degrees in CNC programming, aswell as having formally finished a bachelors degree in carpentry. Heck i might think about looking for something else,.. i hear McDonalds is still employing. |

The company pay the commission to the agency i.e. if the commission is 30%, you cost the company that employs you 130% of your basic salary in year one; you don't get paid any less or pay anything as an individual. These costs and commissions do not affect the job seeker at all. All reputable agencies work on a "no-win-no-fee" basis with their end company clients. Basically, we don't make any money unless we actually place someone. We can spent hours finding and qualifying candidates, agreeing salary etc - only to have our client not select them, or be beaten by competition. Some employers can be sneaky too. Here in The Netherlands, skilled workers recruited from outside of the country can claim a "30% tax ruling" for 10 years, whereby the first 30% of their income is tax free (say hello to 70% NET retention). Some employers will make this application for someone, but then keep half of the figure for themselves (so they have to pay the person less gross salary). Very sneaky. The agency I work for makes this application for its successful candidates free of charge, as part of our service. Getting it granted does not save us any money, but it does make our contractor happy, which is extremely important to long-term retention and professional relationships. |
