I think you're missing my point. I would rather our police force had the necessary equipment to do their job effectively and efficiently rather than pouring an unbelievably more substantial amount of money (in comparison) to fight wars in other countries that have **** all to do with us. but the flip side of the coin and to detract slightly... if our boys where a little better protected over in that "invisible place" they could be more effective thus negating the requirement for anti terrorist departments within the police thus saving money allowing them to buy such cars without over stretching budgets and having to curb policing ![]() apparently from a Scottish bobby I know on another forum there will be massive cuts in the police budget soon, especially for the Scottish police who are separate from the UK police. I don't want to argue with you mate, Ive done these Invisible places you talk about and they need to be sorted out regardless of what views you have [yawn] a lot more people will die if the places like that are left unchecked and my advice to everybody is this. if you dont want us over there, don't buy your illegal drugs, cheap fags,or hooky dvd's because you are funding those ****ers to buy weapons to kill people just like you over there. |

well I'd rather the money went to the army boys so they are more protected in these "invisible wars" you talk about.... The bottom line is that this country cannot afford to sustain such an expensive war. Gordon Brown (although mainly Tony Blair) just wants everyone to think we can afford to play with the big boys which is why we are sticking by the Americans. I don't see any other European countries joining in though, and as far as I can tell nobody has blown a raspberry at them yet (for this). |

Christ, you can't underfund one department just to make up the loss in another. I agree that the army is painfully and embarrassingly underfunded but so are most other departments. As far as the government is concerned soldiers are employees of a department, the same as employees of the NHS or police force. While I don't personally agree with the way things are handled regarding funding I can understand why it has to be the way it is. If the army was funded as much as it needed people would be moaning that they could never get to see a doctor, or a policeman etc etc. you see **** all police around and when you do they are PCSO's or what ever who cant do jack who then Phone the police... (aparently is all going that way soon). there are nurse shortages and the NHS is struggling, you get an over the phone Diagnosis, if you need an ambulence you normally get some chap that turns up to triage you but who cannot actually treat you but who then calls for the Ambulance...truly shameful... ( I have witnessed this when my mum hurt her self) the military....well...it just upsets me ![]() |
