Not intended to directly compete with Google, the Wolfram engine is almost like the computer "Deep thought" in the hitchhikers guide.
Ask it any question, such as "What is the tallest building in Germany?" and it will try to get the answer for you. Pretty cool, though the official debut is a few days away. http://www.wolframalpha.com/index.html Also try Wolfram MathWorld! http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Aleph-0.html [thumbup] |

This engine is not really designed to give you whole pages of things to choose from based on popularity. Its more for giving you direct answers to direct questions, as in PyroTeknik's example. Since it has not even "opened for business" yet, whats there is pretty promising. I guess that like Google, its going to sometimes be how you phrase the question that determines how direct an answer you get. |

It's quick at calculations, but then so is my calculator.
However, my calculator doesn't give me this much info: 443 undecillion, 426 decillion, 488 nonillion, 243 octillian, 37 septillian, 769 sextillian, 948 quintillion, 249 quadrillion, 630 trillion, 619 billion, 149 million, 892 thousand and 803. That's a big number. [thumbup] |

You are right, it could be epic fail, but it looks pretty darn powerful to me! |

I'm not questioning his personal achievements in physics/mathematics nor Mathematica (it's a commercially sound product, although it isn't that amazing), but MathWorld and ScienceWorld can only be described as being weak at best - it's the web-based products that WR seem to have biggest problems with.
