The hell?!?! [rofl] My room has never been as bad as the one in bungle's picture. [cursing]

My room was just messy and untidy, it wasn't dirty neither did it have old bits of food or dishes with dried food. That's just disgusting.

@ foodstampz

That seriously is nothing. I had a flatmate last year who left out food he cooked for days on end. He made some bolognaise that ended up going all green and fluffy after 2 days.

Plus the sink was always full to the brim with stale water and the stove was just covered in grease.

I sometimes think my room is untidy, but I cannot believe how some people can get it to become a mess like that.. that's just crazy and irresponsible.. Especially if it's a girl I'd be worried

She must have something seriously wrong with her mentally if she can tolerate living like that.
Its pure laziness!
She's obviously a slob and a total sloth.

My 17 yr old daughter is exactly the same and I can imagine her doing exactly the same thing in years to come when some unfortunate ******* has the misfortune to live in the same house as her, Just hope the poor sods not married to her.

That Woman has probably had years of her parents shouting at her until their blue in the face, trying to make her clean her room and clean up after her, But the only cure for people like that is to either let them lay in their own filth until they curl up and die from some horrible disease or stick a gun in their mouth and pull the trigger.

My daughters room, frequently looks like this.....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...66uk/mess2.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...66uk/mess3.jpg

My wife and I have tried virtually everything to try and change her bad habit of not cleaning up after herself, but its now beyond a joke and we've literally left her to her own devices.

I hate mess and my wife does too, we are constantly cleaning up after our daughter and Now it has gotten to the stage that we have stopped doing any washing for her, so if she can't be bothered bringing down her dirty clothes to be washed, then she wears dirty clothes for work.

A few years ago, I even tried explaining to my daughter that any boyfriend coming into her room would probably be repulsed at the sight of her dirty knickers on the floor, and overflowing coffee mugs of green fungus, soggy crisps and food trodden into the carpet, but She still didn't give a sh*t, So now we're Past caring, so she has her own little mess and the rest of the house is kept spotless.

We tried rewards and punishments and I even emptied all of her drawers onto the floor, but she still doesn't clean up, I even once removed everything from her room except her bed without any sheets on it, but still she doesn't care, So she can now go to her own personal little hell her own bloody minded way, and I suggest you do that for your flatmates or offspring too. [cursing]

Ah, this thread brings back such great memories of being a student myself - most notably during the summer breaks, when I worked for the company contracted to clean the self-catering halls of residence. I can still vividly remember one flat that a kitchen so bad we had to call environmental health officers and builders in to completely strip the units, cooker and fridge out - the latter was especially bad: full of months old food and milk, left to fester and 'grow'.

@ Snoopy.... hide some cheese or eggs under her bed & wait a couple of weeks... as soon as they start to smell, she'll have no choice but to tidy up in order to find the smell and get rid of it!

TBH though... I used to let my room get in to a state like your daughter... I've since become a lot better... a previous girlfriend almost turned me in to a neat freak! lol! I despise mess/untidyness... and make my room tidy... almost to the point of compulsive... weird how it can change.

The only time I've seen my room anything like that, was actually quite recently during the exam period when i was too tired to tidy up.

As for the kitchen... I always kept that clean... why should my housemates have to put up with my mess?

I am not a super organized person, but, there is a difference between untidy and filth. Filth grosses me out. Like used tissues, food, wrappers and trash all over. I have no idea how people tolerate that.

I usually have stuff all over but it's like paper, electronics, dvds, headphones.

I just got home from 8 days away from my apartment to discover the following....

How can people live like this??! Not only that but she didn't mow the damn lawn and it looks ghetto!
[cursing][cursing][cursing]
You my friend are a funny guy! That right there is nothing. Sure, I like my place spotless just like you, but that right there is only about 15 minutes of washing those dishes. Hand washing those dishes.
As long as she takes care of it, I wouldn't be complaining at all.

I could care less how messy their room is. Just as long as they keep the rest of the place picked up while I am there, then so what?
I could kind of see some frustration when you come home you want to come home to a clean place. Usually if we make a mess when people are gone, it is cleaned up at least the night before.
Though, really that mess is nothing.

stop having so many plates, that way you're forced to clean up the plates instead of keep using the clean one, now go start breaking some of it.
