By the way, will the 90s be remembered for anything? I mean as far as culture goes, not politically. I spent my youth in the 90s, listened to grunge, metal and the likes. Yet it never was the music of the decade. I mean 50s had rock and blues, 60s had hippy music, 70s had disco, 80s had pop... what did "we" invent?

But still, Im glad I didnt spend my teen years in the 80s... with all those embaressing haircuts and cloths, lol.

80s, naturally. You really have to see those music videos to see what a mind-boggling decade it was.

I would say the late 70's or early 80's.

Consoles and computers. I would problably end up have been some type of founder of something computers and I could be sitting on a lot of cash right now.
Plus back then you could make your games at home in just a few months, and would be able to sell it to a big corperation, or even make your own company and be sitting on a **** load of cash that way.

The decade breakdown (at least in the US):
  • 60s - Sexual Revolution
  • 70s - Psychedelic drugs and "classic rock"
  • 80s - Cocaine and "hair music"
  • 90s - Lawsuits and computers
  • 00s - "Terrorism" and super department stores.
So, using that list as a guide:

Hands down, the 60s. I mean, hell, "pulling out" was a promoted and well-practiced method of birth control back then. Unprotected sex was the norm... damn, they had no idea how good they had it.

So far.... 2000 - 2010

I turned 12 in 2000 so this has all been my teenage years and I've rather enjoyed them.

However, I very much would have like to have been around in the 80s just for the music

Posssibly 85-95 as I would have caught the end of 80s music and near enough all of the grunge scene [thumbup]

Infact, all of the decades have been pretty cool. Theres sometihng I'd like from all of them!

I don't think you can simply define a decade like that. The 70s for instance had Metal, Punk and Funk which are all more worthwhile than Disco. Some would say that the 90s movement was Alternative although I'd say that was getting kicked off in the early 80s by bands like REM. But the 90s is undoubtedly the decade that Alt Rock broke into the mainstream as for something innovative of course Dance music, the 90s was the decade that Acid House, etc. made it crossed over and some great dance music was produced.

The 90s will be remembered for sitcoms like Friends! [thumbup]

For as far as I'm concerned, That '70s Show is too funny for me to vote for anything else. Of course, I'm only 22, so I suppose for me personally the current decade's been the best.

The 80's for sure! Soooo many great teenage memories and I still to this day really only listen to the "hairband" music, bulletboys, slaughter, G&R, AC/DC and my favorite Cinderella, just to name a few, while working out.

P.S..........Kurt Cobain killed the hair bands! *******!

That era had the best music conceived so far, and all bands were at their top form. Jimi, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Purple, Zappa, King Crimson...

Korean war
Nuclear arming race
The early beginnings of the Vietnam conflict (French vs Vietcongs)
Cold war
Apartheid & widespread racial intolerance
McCarthyism
Suez Crisis
Soviets slaughtering Hungarian revolutionaires
US beats England in World Cup
as soon as i read that i though of most things in your list. Cept USA beating England...that was awesome!

I was born in 73 but remember the late 70's and how much fun they were. People had respect and manners back then and as the years have passed by so have these rare qualities. I wouldnt say I hate the way things are today but I wish people would treat each other a bit better [thumbdown]

The early 90's were good, raves every week, "experimenting" etc, the good old coming of age, was a top time for me [thumbup]
