Default Whats your favorite decade since the end of WW2?
Heck, everytime I see a movie from the 60s I somehow fall in love with that decade. Everything seemed to be so easy and down to earth back then. Sure, they had the Vietnam War and the Cold war, but people seemed to be able to travel everywhere without any problems, girls were beautyful and didnt wear bras and even though the music was kinda gay they had the coolest cars and tv shows, lol.

Darn, I'd love to live in the 60s western USA or Southern France...

Whats your favorite decade and why?

1980's. I have a ton of fond memories of that decade (I was in my teens through most of it), Reagan was president (loved the guy), the heavy metal scene was still thundering, you could still buy a muscle car for dirt cheap (all of my friends had them), and I played more guitar and drank more beer in that decade than all other years outside of that decade. I simply don't have any bad memories of that decade...

For me it was the '70's, especially the latter part, as that was my "coming of age" decade. Had more fun then, compared to anytime since. I'd rate the '60's second, 80's third, 90's fourth, and the current decade last, based on my own life experience.

It'll be interesting to see all the responses, considering most peeps here weren't born until after '80, as it's very difficult to determine how a previous decade compared if you didn't live through it.

...the 60s...even though the music was kinda gay...
Definitely no more than what's produced now, and I'd say actually less so.

although i didn't get to see a lot of it, the 70's seemed to be a fun decade.

would have liked to been a teenager around then.

It has got to be the 80s. The perfect mixture of modern excess and quaint charm, and the best music ever made.

1966 - 1976

That era had the best music conceived so far, and all bands were at their top form. Jimi, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Purple, Zappa, King Crimson...

I would say the 50's. Nothing bad happened in the 50's. Korean war
Nuclear arming race
The early beginnings of the Vietnam conflict (French vs Vietcongs)
Cold war
Apartheid & widespread racial intolerance
McCarthyism
Suez Crisis
Soviets slaughtering Hungarian revolutionaires
US beats England in World Cup
